It’s been 2 months since our last

newsletter and it has been quite an

eventful 2 months. Our total has risen

with donations and pledges to nearly

£5,850. This is fantastic as the launch

of Challenge 50 isn’t officially until

November. This now means when we

start in November we have already

raised enough to grant one child’s wish

and set us well on our way to another.

So far we have one of Kimal’s

distributors CresMed in Italy who

as a company donated 1000Euros and

then their Managing Director Remo

Spada donated another 1000Euros.

We also have our old friend Steve

Burrows at PPS (they print all of our

labels etc.) who donated £1000 and

offered to help us with our printing for

the event. Many thanks to these people

and companies who have supported

our fundraising appeal.

The Artrix Event 2014With its 50 year anniversary 2014 is an important milestone in thehistory of the company. Challenge 50 is looking tocompliment and support the anniversary by raising funds forMake-A-Wish Foundation® UK by holding a series and challengesthroughout the year.

The end of Challenge 50 is going to be marked by a Variety Show atthe Artrix theatre in Bromsgrove. Our headline act will be One StopBoogie, billed as the ultimate party band. They have many differentsets from 70’s, 80’s, Top of the Pops Show 1960-2012 right through toa Swing set. In fact they have such a really good mix that Kimal havehired them for the 2013 Christmas party knowing that the two showswill be different. To find out more information about the band theirwebsite link is below

Not only do we have a party band but we are also looking for otheracts to join them, but we would love to see somebody who just wantsto volunteer their time and showcase their talents, perhaps for the firsttime on stage or in front of an audience. 3 Peaks ChallengeThe National Three Peaks Challenge is a well known phrase amongst the more adventurous. This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within24 hours. The three peaks are:

Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)

Scafell Pike, in England (978m)

Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m

Maximum climbing times are generally suggested as being around 4 hours for Snowdon, and 5hours for Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike, but you should aim for a half hour or so under. In itselfthis time isn't unrealistic for most relatively fit people, but it's certainly not a gentle walk, andwhen three climbs are required within 24 hours the Challenge becomes more difficult, drainingyour energy anddepriving you of sleep.

In order to attempt the National Three Peaks Challenge safely, you must have an adequate levelof fitness.

To enjoy the Three Peaks, you need to be fitter than most. For some, this'll mean continuing asteady, regular fitness routine, but for others this may mean some quite large changes.Do just half an hour a day, gradually stepping it up until you can run a mile or two. In the actualchallenge you shouldn't need to do any running, but you'll be doing a lot of walking.

The above information was taken from http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/

So far, there has been a fabulous response, so far people who have expressed in Kimal are(although after reading the above they may think again!!):

As part of Challenge 50 I have started a book writing challenge. This is one for all of the budding Barbara Cartlands, MichaelCrichtons and of course Stephen Kings.

A little while ago I circulated an email asking for volunteersWe have had 11 eager parties come forward and Tony Wilsondouble the entry fee so that he could write the first chapter. Entryfee for writing a chapter is £10.

When the book is finished I will attempt to get published digitallyon Amazon to see if we can make any sales, plus any other sitewho will be gratuitous enough to host it for us so that it can besold.

As and when it is finished and it is online in all its glory I will senda note around to let everyone know it is available. It should becompatible with most IPads, IPhones, tablets and PCs but I willconfirm closer to the time.

You can now donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 by text to 70070Create a new text message and enter QJWV92then enter the amount you wish to donate £5
