Revered Chief Guest and Bharat Ratna and former his Excellency the President of India Dr. APJ
Abdul Kalam and Hon’ble Guest of Honour, the Collector & Dist Magistrate of Balasore Prof. Dr.
Akila Bihari Ota, Organising Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar Patra, Distinguised members of the Old
Boys Association of Alma mater Sachindra Kumar High School, Langaleswar, Esteemed members of
the Press, Honourable Guests and all of you who have helped us to organize and commemorate the
Golden Jubilee Celebration of our beloved School and everyone present here. I deem it a great honour
to welcome all of you to the memorable occasion.
To introduce Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to you is to attempt a task which few in
India can do justice to. So I will begin by saying that such a genius who has become a legand in every
home of our country and especially in Odisha needs no introduction at all to my countryman. Having
said so I canot refrain myself from saying that the man who has endeared himself to all countrymen is
the architect of Indian Missile and Ballistic Power and one of the greatest scientist in the World. Yet,
ladies and gentlemen, he is the very model of Gandhian simplicity and humility. Lest some of you
find fault with me, let me assert that he is also one of the most learned man in our country and an
educationist par excellence. Such is the stature of our chief guest who has risen from masses to be
colossus among the elite of India. I will not go into history for all to read in books and on the net. Let
me simply say he is one Indian who deserves to the applauded, admired and adulated by the young
and the old of our country, for his patriotism, his versatile achievement and his unimpeachable
character.
Our Guest of Honour is also an acclaimed of letters Prof. Dr. Akhila Bihari Ota, IAS is indeed
outstanding civil servent and an able administrator with an excellent image. We are indeed greatful to
both Dr. Kalam and Dr. Ota for gracing this Golden Jubilee Celebration of our School.
Our dear dear School, our mother institution, our own school Sachindra Kumar High School,
Langaleswar has nurtured and inspired hundred of worthy sons of the soil. Though it is not a famous
seat of education, it has been nothing short of a Shanti Niketan for us who have had the privilege to
being students here. Ensconced as it is in the lap of Nature, our School is home sweet home to all the
students who have and am one with all the students who have studied here. It’s Golden Jubilee
Celebration for us is no less pleasurable than the golden jubilee celebration of any school anywhere
on earth. No one can wipe out our undelible memories of this village school that has taught us the
highest values of life in significant ways.

We are here to ensure that its stature as an educational institution grows in the days to come
and it becomes one of the ideal schools of our state. We will plan its future with commitment and
outlook and one day perhaps it will have all the amenities of a modern school so that all its students
feel truly proud of it in future.
Langaleswar is a place of religious acclaim and thousands of devotees flock to its famous
shrine the Langaleswar Temple. Langaleswar has agricultural glory and is slowly developing in
various ways. We will set it up with our resources in a significant way so that its development
benefits our local people and ensures true progress and prosperity. We will do our best for our school
and our home land.
It has been a privilege to be on this dais and welcome all of you and I humbly say again that
we are most greatful not only to the incomparable Dr Kalam and the dexterous Akhila Bihari Ota for
being in our midst on this great occasion but to all who have agreed to grace these Golden Jubilee
Celebration despite all their pressing engagement and stately duties. With these words I conclude but
before I resume my seat, let me not forget to say Hail my Alma Mater Sachindra Kumar High School,
Vande Utkal Janani and of course, Jai Hind, Mera Bharat Mahan…
