EBVACwas founded in 2005byChinaAnimalHealth andEpidemiologyCenter (CAHEC), through itssubsidiarycompanyQingdaoYebio,apartoftheNationalInstituteoftheMinistryofAgriculture.ThecompanyisbasedinHangzhouCity,neartoShanghaiandfocusesonvaccineresearch,productionandservice.In2016itachievedsalesof140m.RMB(19m.Euro)andhasaveragedgrowthof20%paforthe past 5 yrs. Swine vaccines are themajor driver of this growth, representingmore than 55%ofsales.Thecompany is recognizedasaNationalHigh-TechEnterpriseandhasabroadnetworkofscientificpartnerships with local research institutes and universities and an international R&D joint-venturewiththeUniversityofCambridge,UK,CAMBIVAC.

CevaisaFrench-basedmultinationalbiopharmaceuticalgroup,theworld’s6thlargest,withabalancedofferingofvaccinesandpharmaceuticalproductsforswineproducers.

Ceva will hold the majority of shares in the new partnership and through the addition of its ownproducts to theEBVACportfolioofvaccines,aimstocreatean innovative,market leadingcompany.CevahasbeenpresentinChinafor15yearsandsince2011hasenteredintoanumberofpartnerships(joint-ventureCevaHuadu,scientificcooperationagreementwithSouthChinaAgriculturalUniversity(SCAU),trainingprogrammeforproducersandveterinarianswiththeUniversityofBeijing)designedtoshareknowledgeandensurethatthecompany'sinternationalswineexpertisecanbeappliedtolocalconditionsanddiseasesinChina.

ThisnewcompanyCevaEBVACwillbenefitfromtheextensivescientificnetworksalreadyestablishedbyitstwopartners,whohavebothagreedtoinvestsignificantlyinanewresearchanddevelopmentprogramme.

Inaddition,EBVAChas recentlymadesignificant investment tobuildaworldclass, industrial facilitythatwillpermitthisnewdynamicinR&Dtobeconvertedintovaccinesofthehighestquality.

Finally,combiningthe2salesforcesandtrainingthemtorolloutCeva'sinnovativeswinemanagementprogrammes-LungprogrammeandRespinomicswillallowthecompanytoreachmanymoreswineproducers and encourage them to adopt the “new-style professional farming methods”recommendedbyGovernmentinitslatest5yearplan.
