Since then, he has worked as a staff nurse, charge nurse and nurse educator for Wellmont Health System, which operates two trauma centers and is the main tertiary referral system for most of northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. His clinical interests include trauma and critical care and pediatric emergency nursing. In addition to becoming one of the nation’s first 500 Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurses, he was also named 2010 Nurse of the Year for Emergency Services at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Rutherford is a member of the Appalachian Chapter of the Emergency Nurses Association. Outside of work, he volunteers his time as a Boy Scout leader and is active in his church’s Meals on Wheels ministry.

About the Speaker

Robert Rutherford, BSN, RN, CEN, CPEN

Rob Rutherford began his career in emergency care as a high school student volunteering in the emergency room. Since then, he has worked as a staff nurse, charge nurse and nurse educator for Wellmont Health System, which operates two trauma centers and is the main tertiary referral system for most of northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia.
