Network related issues: TCP/IP

• TCP/IP Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

• Basic Unix- and Internet-Protocol

• Standardprotocol for the networking with different hardware types

• Necessary, if you want to communicate with the Internet or realize an Intranet

• Established for networking and the protocol type of the future

Software errors:

Most software errors are caused by security/user rights or connection problems to different devices on the network. These errors are like “ Cannot contact database”, “cannot establish connection to…” , “a file cannot be accessed, read, written..”

Course of action: Make sure that the user has the right to access data, (read write, change). Log in as Administrator and see if it makes a difference.

Make sure you can access folders manually. Like start-> run -> \\computername\foldername\filename.

Restart RCU services or server(s) if access problem persists.Refer to user\service manual for cause of error.
