What is the BCI?

CBCI Certification

• Step One – Complete some formal Training (Instructor led, eLearning/Self-study)

• Step Two – Take the Certificate of the BCI Examination (CBCI)

• Step Three – Pass this examination and attain an internationally recognized post-nominal designation CBCI.

• Step Four – Use your CBCI to progress to certified membership of the BCI

• Step Five – Provide evidence of experience or use the BCI CPD Programme to upgrade your membership

DBCI Qualification

• Step One – Enrol on the Diploma of the BCI (Distance Learning)

• Step Two – Follow the 30 weeks, 3 module course

• Step Three – Pass the Diploma and gain the internationally recognized post nominal designation and academic qualification DBCI

• Step Four – Use your DBCI to progress to certified membership of the BCI (exempt from taking the CBCI exam)

• Step Five – Provide evidence of experience or use the BCI CPD Programme to upgrade your membership

A Global Membership

Over 50% of BCI Membership is from outside the UK (2015)

The Alternative Route to Membership (ARM) was set up for holders of third party business continuity credentials to provide an alternative route to BCI Membership that did not require applicants to sit the Certificate of the BCI (CBCI) Examination but instead, recognized third party credentials as equivalent qualifications.

The following qualifications and credentials have been identified as at least equivalent to the CBCI:

– DBCI (Diploma of the BCI)– ABCP– CBCP– MBCP– ICOR CORS Exam– MSc in Business Continuity, Security and Emergency

Management and MSc in Organizational Resilience (from Buckinghamshire New University)

– MSc in Healthcare Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity Management (from Loughborough University)
