Description of Product
This is an assessment Orlitech Mesh, a
composite made of basalt fibre reinforced
polymer rods for use in crack control in
ground bearing concrete slabs and screeds and
as reinforcement / crack control in structural
toppings for insulated beam and block
flooring.
It consists of grids of 2.2 and 3mm diameter
rods with mesh size of 50 x 50mm and 100 x
100mm respectively.
Supplied in sheets or 30m x 0.75m and 30m
x1.2m rolls.

see if the system is acceptable for use on sites
covered by LABC Warranty.

The product is used on construction projects to provide crack control in ground bearing concrete slabs and concrete
screeds and reinforcement in concrete toppings and screeds forming part of a preformed suspended floor system.
When used to reinforce screeds over Beam and block floor systems the product should be confirmed by the designer as
meeting the system manufacturer’s requirements by reference to tested performance.
When used in any other structural application it should be part of a specification that has been designed by an
appropriately qualified person i.e. structural or civil engineer.
Concrete slabs and toppings must be in accordance with BS 8500-1: 2015, BS 8500-2:2015 and BS EN 206: 2013.
For screeds, sand: cement mix proportions shall suit the service conditions and be in accordance with BS:8204.
LABC consider that, Orlitech Mesh will meet the functional requirements of the Building Regulations
(listed below) if the criteria detailed in this certificate are met;
