Measurement UncertaintiesIn the certificate you find a graphical representation of the measured value with respect to the tolerance values.The tolerance values are defined by the applicable standard library.
The machine and it's environment conditions provide an uncertainty of the measured value.These uncertainties also depend on the diameter of the measured object, and the flank angles.
Due to the measurement uncertainties the measured value has it's own uncertainty band.This uncertainty band is compared to the tolerances of the standard library. This results is a 3-character combination. * The 1st character is the measured value minus the measurement uncertainty. * The 2nd character is the measured value. * The 3rd character is the measured value plus the measurement uncertainty.
Each character of the 3-character combination means: A = Below the minimal tolerance value of the standard library. B = Between the minimal and maximal tolerance value of the standard library. C = Above the maximal tolerance value of the standard library.
The reported uncertainty is based on a standard uncertainty multiplied by a coverage factor k=2,which provides a confidence level of approximately 95%.The standard uncertainty has been determined in accordance with EA 04/2.
