HOW TO FIX A LEAKYCERAMIC-DISK FAUCET
Leaky faucets are usually easy to x. Below you will nd the steps andtips to nd the problem and x it.
If the disk is cracked or scratched in any way it needs to be replaced.
1. Remove the escutcheon cap. Aer unscrewing and removing the handle, locate the escutcheon,
which sits directly beneath the handle and is usually made of metal.
2. Unscrew and remove the disk cylinder. This will expose several neoprene seals on the underside.
3. Pry out the seals and clean the cylinders. White vinegar would work well for this purpose, especially
if you have hard water. Soak them for several hours to work out the build-up and then assess whether or
not they're reusable.
4. Replace the seals if necessary. If they look pied, frayed, thin, or otherwise worn – or if you simply
want to play it safe – bring them into the hardware store to find exact replacements.
5. Reassemble the handle and very slowly turn the water on. Running the water too forcefully can
crack the ceramic disk.

Align the pieces & take a photoWhen removing the faucet pieces, align them in order of how you takethem out. Then take a picture of the pieces for later reference.
Use a Faucet KitInstead of only changing the damage piece, we highly recommend to buy a faucet kit and replaceeverything. Per example, if you are replacing a worn-out washer from a compression faucet, most likely, the 2nd washer may start having issues soon.
Cover the drainSmall pieces can fall inside the drain. To prevent this, cover the drain holewith a towel.
