SafeSpace Welcomes NewCEO, Board Members

SafeSpace,Inc., the onlycerti�eddomesticviolencecenter on the
Treasure Coast, recently announced that Dr. Teresa Albizuhas joined the nonpro�t as its new CEO.
During the last twelve years, prior to coming to SafeSpace,Dr. Albizu served as founder and co-president of R-APinnacle Group - a consulting practice providingprofessional and leadership development education andtraining to businesses, corporations, higher educationinstitutions and not-for-pro�t organizations.

Formerly, Dr. Albizu held a leadership position in the �eldof higher education, and mental health and coachingservices through her private practice.
She also currently serves as adjunct faculty with TheChicago School of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Albizu holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in HigherEducation Leadership, an M.S. in Marriage and FamilyTherapy and a B.S. in Psychology.
Additionally, she is a Fellow of the National HispanaLeadership Institute’s Executive Leadership Program.
Along with Dr. Abizu’s appointment, SafeSpace alsoannounced two new additions to its Board of Directors:Aimee Markford, CPA, CFE, and Joanne Willenbacher, CPA.
Markford was born and raised on the Treasure Coast andhas served as CFO of the Indian River County Sheri�'sO�ce since 2018. She has an M.S. in Financial Managementand is both a Certi�ed Public Accountant and a Certi�edFraud Examiner.
Willenbacher, a Fort Pierce resident, is executive vicepresident and CFO for Coventry Development Corporationwhich manages and develops real estate land tracts. Shehas a B.S. in Business Administration and more than 35years of experience in all aspects of �nancial, construction,property management, real estate development and U.S.and international tax accounting.
