Major changes are afoot at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre.

Next year is the 40th Anniversary of the Centre and an action packed program is planned across the 12 months. This includes a wide range of new Subscription Packages covering everything from film, theatre, music to our popular kid’s club subscriptions returning for the second year. A subscription program will be mailed to all Centrestage subscribers in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for that.

2016 will also see the launch of a Centre membership program, “The A Listers”. For the first year, this will be offered free of charge to all patrons who would like to join, and included with all subscriptions. Members will receive other benefits which will be announced soon.

In line with current industry standards, SEC will also be introducing transaction charges at the box office in 2016. This will be a small additional charge made on each booking (that’s per booking, not per ticket) to help to keep the Centre viable. The good news is that members will be exempt from this fee so you will want to sign up for a complimentary membership as soon as they are released.

More immediate changes included the trialling of a new catering idea, the Eat’n Street pop up restaurant. Starting on 13 November this casual dining option will appear in the SEC forecourt on Fridays from 5pm. Bookings are not required, but if it proves popular you might want to book to secure your table. Gourmet takeaway options will also be available.

Finally, I’d like to invite you to enjoy the Christmas season with SEC. You can choose from the Seniors Christmas concert on 26 November, The Orchestra’s Australian Christmas on 13 December, Mark Vincent’s Christmas concert on 20 December and of course the John Franklin Christmas lunch where everyone is welcome on Christmas Day.
