REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

1. INTRODUCTION

Congratulations to all for being selected to join the Centre for Foundation Studies of the

International Islamic University Malaysia.

1.1 Please read carefully and follow the instructions given.

1.2 There will be no physical registration due to the current

COVID19 pandemic. Kindly follow the procedures and

fill in the information as stated in ONLINE OFFER

LETTER (http://www.iium.edu.my/tawaran/) to

prepare for your Online Registration Completion. This

will automatically qualify you as a registered student.

2. CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE

You are required to fill the ONLINE acceptance form and

submit it within the stipulated date as stated in the ONLINE

OFFER LETTER webpage. Otherwise this offer of admission

will be automatically revoked. The website for online reply is as

follows:

If you decide to decline our offer, you may not be considered for admission into the IIUM

Foundation programme in the future and no further appeal for admission will be

entertained.

PAYMENT MUST BE MADE via JomPAY

*Payment for JomPAY – Logon to Internet or Mobile Banking and look for JomPAY

Students who are ENTITLED for KPT Bantuan Asasi

(household income below RM10,000/month), are required

to open a Savings Bank Account at any branch of

Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (BMMB).

SELF-SPONSORED students are REQUIRED to settle amounts due latest by 2 WEEKS

BEFORE each final semester examination.

4. MEDICAL CHECKUP

a. ALL students are required to undergo a medical checkup at IIUM Health & Wellness

Centre (IHWC) as scheduled by Centre for Foundation Studies.

b. For students who present physically in CFS Campus in Gambang, the medical checkup

will be done in IHWC Gambang.

c. For students who involve in full remote learning and live in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur &

Putrajaya, the medical checkup will be done at IHWC Gombak Campus.

d. For students other than group (b) and (c), they can postpone the medical checkup

procedure until they are able to return to CFS Campus later.

e. All students MUST fill in Google Form (the link will be sent to students by IHWC once

the online registration is completed) for Health Status Declaration and Mental Health

Assessment by General Practitioner during Ta’aruf Week.

f. You are required to bring COMPLETE Medical Checkup form (with list of regular

medicines if there is an existing illness) during the medical check-up with IHWC Medical

Officer.

g. Kindly read and print the Health Examination Guidelines and form (8) of IHWC which is

also made available in the Online Offer Letter webpage:

5. DISABILITY SERVICES UNIT (DSU)

The University believes in creating an enabling and inclusive

environment to allow all students to perform to their maximum

potentials regardless of their disabilities. As such, if you have any

kind of disability(physical, sensory, speech, intellectual or

mental), please contact the Disability Services Unit (DSU) at

[email protected] as soon as possible, preferably at least 1

month before the physical registration day (if applicable), to

allow sufficient time for early preparations to accommodate your

special needs (if any).

6. MAHALLAH (RESIDENTIAL)

Students reside in rooms or dormitories. Each room or dorm can accommodate 4 students. Each

student is provided with basic facilities in his/her room. Meanwhile, common facilities are also

allocated at each Mahallah i.e. self-service laundry, TV room, general store (kiosk), stationery

8. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST (EPT) & ARABIC PLACEMENT TEST (APT)

8.1 The English Language Department of Centre for Foundation Studies (ELD CFS)

conducts the English Placement Test (EPT) every year to new intake students with the

aim to place each student into different levels of English classes based on their English

proficiency. However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, the paper-based EPT can

no longer be carried out for students of batch 2020/2021.

It should be noted that this is applicable for this batch only.

8.1.1 Placement in English Language courses

Instead of having all students sit for the EPT for placement during Ta’aruf Week, the

students’ SPM GCE 1119 2019 results are used to place the students accordingly.

However, those who are deemed eligible to be exempted from taking English Language

courses will have to sit for an online writing test before their status is confirmed.

8.1.2 Exemption from taking English Language courses

Students, who have sat for IELTS * or TOEFL before registering, mus t produce

evidence of IELTS* or TOEFL qualifications during registration. The following

minimum requirements must be met in order to be exempted from taking English

Language courses:

8.2 The Quranic Language Department of Centre for Foundation Studies (QLD CFS)

conducts the Arabic Placement Test (APT) every year to new intake students with the

aim to place each student into different levels of Arabic classes based on their Arabic

language proficiency. However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, there will be no

Arabic Placement Test (APT) for all new intake students, session 2020/2021. Thus,

QLD CFS have decided to place student’s LQM levels by their SPM results. The

placement is as follows:

8.2.1 Placement for English Medium Students Without Arabic Subject in SPM:

All English Medium Students without Arabic subject in SPM will be placed at

level 1 (LQM 0813).

8.2.2 Placement for English Medium Students with Arabic Subject in SPM:
