From the staff
Dear Campers and Parents,
Welcome to another year of exciting summer camp options from the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES). We have accomplished 40 successful years of summer camp experiences and are looking forward to year 41. This year we will offer six traditional camps, three trips, and four day camps. Due to the increased interest in camps for youth ages 9-11, we will offer two “Everything Under the Sun” camps this year; one in June and one in July. Children can sign up for both if they like!
In addition to increased camp offerings for youth, we have also added to our outpost site across the lake. Campers visiting Raccoon Run will enjoy a new fire ring, food prepping area, and the opportunity to canoe on the pond. Main camp has also found new improvements with a “gaga pit” in the cabin loop for some afternoon fun and games.
All summer staff complete two weeks of training with us before camp begins. Staff are trained in First Aid, CPR, outdoor skills, games and waterfront procedures. Most are certified as lifeguards and all undergo numerous background and reference checks before being hired. Our year-round staff provide wonderful meals and clean, comfortable accommodations. As a field station for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources, we maintain the finest equipment for learning and recreation.
Summer 2016 will be our second summer as an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited camp. We are proud to be a member of the national organization setting the standards for health, safety and program quality in the camping world. We look forward to seeing you at camp this summer!

If interested, please contact Tom Quinn at [email protected].
Welcome to Summer 2016!
