The Central European Initiative Wholesale Markets Foundation (CEI WMF) – a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) associating Wholesale Markets from transition countries in Central and Eastern Europe and National Wholesale Market Company (NWMC) from Croatia Established with the assistance of:

Since 1998 the Foundation has been growing:
• From the initial 3 to 19 organizations from 8 countries
• New member joining the Foundation during this event – Belgrade Wholesale Market
• Area covered - 130 million consumers

The primary objective of CEI WMF:
To help relatively young wholesale market companies in Central and Eastern Europe to develop and improve their operations in order to:
to better serve their clients
to increase the WMs revenue earning capabilities
to increase their competitiveness
Foundation Objectives
In particular, the Foundation aims to:
Provide support to its members aimed at improvement in their business operations
Facilitate exchange of information and experience
Provide business match-making opportunities

The Foundation offers benchmarking opportunities that can be translated into practical solutions adaptable in local environments of its member countries
The Foundation aims to raise the visibility of its members with local policy-makers, industry institutions, and the media, drawing on the experience of countries in or outside the region
Improvement in WM Business Operations
Platform for exchange of expertise among its member WMs and external parties on technical, management and operational issues
• Regular seminars, workshops and study tours by the Foundation members organized twice a year in member and non-member countries:
2012: Poland, France, Italy 2011: Ukraine, Germany 2010: Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2009: Spain, Hungary 2008: Germany, Poland, Romania 2007: Croatia, Ukraine 2006: Albania, Hungary, etc.
Some WM construction and reconstruction projects have been successfully implemented also due to consultancy provided by the Foundation members

Networking opportunities at the Foundation workshop
28 May 2012 – the Foundation and the Warsaw WM from Bronisze, Poland organized the I Forum of Traders and Producers from Wholesale Markets of Central and Eastern Europe
a new initiative of the Foundation involving representatives of the WM operators – producers, wholesale buyers and sellers to have a joint discussion on the current market operational issues with more industry players

The Foundation is open to cooperation with other European Wholesale Markets
