ed tours of the rooms. Pictured with the troop are; Nick Smith and Eddie Garcia from

Some exciting updates are coming our way in late Spring of this year. The courtyard area will be completely

reconstructed and up to code for ADA compliance. The scope of work will include: removal of the entire

existing concrete patio and ramps, construction of improved drainage, new ramps, concrete patio and a

20’X20’ shade structure. The ADA parking area to the north of the patio will also be reconstructed to meet

ADA requirements. When completed, we hope the space will be utilized as a place for people to

socialize and gather. Hopefully, the project will go out for bids in March pending City Council approval, and

construction is not expected to get under way until May or June.

Spotlight On: Fine Art Class

4

This class offers individual guidance as needed, by local artist, John Voter. The small class size allows for

one-on-one attention and instruction, using fine art techniques, as each student works on their own

projects, at their own pace, and are encouraged by each other’s support.

Participants felt there needed to be a distinction made that this was more than just a multi-media art class,

and came to a consensus to change the name of the class to Fine Art Class. But the name of the class

shouldn’t discourage anyone from joining the fun. All levels, whether you’re just starting out or an

advanced artist, are welcome and encouraged to join.

There are 2 class times available allowing for people who work during the day to enjoy a break from the

grind of daily life by participating in the evening. If you are interested in the class, you are welcome to stop

by either the afternoon or evening class and check it out!

John is available to offer guidance for what materials you might need to purchase for the class. It’s your

choice what type of medium you would like to work with whether it’s watercolor, oil, acrylic, or pastels.
