Each Agency maintains their own unique sets of data to join with Location data. Each Agency has own Data Steward and Data Owner to maintain particular portions on Master Location and own unique data sets.

• Locations have several meanings and usages by Agency.

• CSS is attempting to gather requirements by State Agency that would allow sharing of addresses/locations by Agency.

• CSS has identified that local governments may benefit from sharing of data as well and may want to participate in a Master Address Repository that will contain the cleanest and most up-to-date addresses.

• Looking to discover local government requirements needs for access and housing address information.

Address Points Don’t always correlate correctly to places when looking at points on a map.

This is due to standardized addressing software that places the points on a map as if each address was interpolated and may be off by several feet to miles in some cases.

A more accurate way to map addresses would be to add (X,Y) Coordinates to the locations to get better precision.

This will benefit Michigan Agencies when performing their analyses when drawing boundaries, districts or access points.
