CEMENT BOARDS APPLICATION FOR M/S.RAMCO INDUSTRIES LIMITED-
ARRAKONAM
Application: Fiber cement Board
Moisture range: 30-40% of moisture
Sensor Model: ET-3000
Application composition:
• Combination of cement and reinforcing fibers formed into 4 foot by 8-foot
sheets
• 40-60% of cement, 20-30% of fibers, 8-10% of cellulose, 10-15% of mica
• 1/4 to 1/2-inch-thick that are typically used as a tile backing board
Aim of Demonstration: To determine the online Moisture in the fiber cement Board
and control the Process Temperature using Closed Loop.
ET-3000 ONLINE SEN DEMONSTRATION:
1. The ET-3000(moisture measurement system) had been calibrated offline with laboratory
samples for linearization. Then the Calibrated values had been compared with the Lab
Value and it was found that the readings were matching the specification.
2. Then the system was mounted online. The trials were conducted and the instant values
were displayed. Using the values from the CCS3000 system, outputs like 4-20mA or
Profibus are provided with which the temperature can be controlled via PLC/SCADA.
3. The readings obtained when connected online was on par with the specified technical
compliance.

Case study:
1. Accuracy between Gauge value & Laboratory values shall be be around
0.6%.(max)
2. Online NIR readings are more reliable & accurate compared to other moisture
measurement techniques.
3. Helps control the process thereby reducing the wastage of Product.
4. Helps maintain the quality of the product.
