F R O M T H E D I R E C T O R . . .It all started with a promise! In 2014, you voted to invest in our community’s children and its future, authorizing a $1.2 million project expanding our incredible Library. Now, five years and 2,800 square feet later, we are dying to throw open the doors and show you what’s inside!

Our new expanded youth section is based on your conversations. As your library, we’re committed to supporting literacy and community in all of its engaging forms. We’ve worked with architects and designers to carve out the best yet flexible use of the defined footage. When you’re here, you will be welcomed by a warm, calming environment, additional meeting rooms and innovative spaces—such as a place especially designed for tweens, with booths and comfy seating for group or individual work. Thanks to the generous contributions of our Friends of the Library, our toddler area will be defined by a gorgeous piece of sectional seating, we’ll have fresh new furnishings for our new meeting room, and there’ll be a beautiful cupola placed on the roof of our expansion later this summer. The Tuesday Club has donated a new puppet theater that we can’t wait for kids to play with and a fabulous aquarium habitat for Norbert, our bearded dragon.

The finest libraries are not only buildings—they are a vision and a service, the best of ourselves that we offer to others. On behalf of the library staff, volunteers, trustees and Friends, I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting our mission and working with us to elevate our community, one member at a time.

Please join us at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to welcome our new addition and then stay for one great, big party!! We’ll have music, a petting zoo, Wonder Jump’s giant double slide, games, local history, hot dogs, Popsicles and more. As always, can’t wait to see you at the Library!!
