CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP
Gathering Song Kwake Yesu nasimama/Here on Jesus Christ I Will Stand
SWAHILI Refrain: Kwake Yesu nasimama Ndiye mwamba ni salama, ndiye mwamba ni salama Ndiye mwamba ni salama
Here on Jesus Christ I will stand He’s the solid rock of my life, He’s the solid rock of my life. He’s the solid rock of my life
There’s no other place I can hide till the storm that rages subsidesMy voice cries to God from the flood, and I’m saved because of his blood
It is not the work of my hands that has washed away all my sinsI’m redeemed, and all of my days, Jesus Christ will be my heart’s praise
When my days on this earth are done, and I stand at God’s holy throneMy heart will not have any fear, in Christ’s righteousness I am here

O Give Thanks (Psalm 107)
We were wand’ring in the desert with our souls so starved and weakWe were hungry for a homeland we did not know how to seekBut we lifted up our voices to the only One who hearsAnd the God of mercy came and brought us near We were locked out of the garden, and our backs bent down with painIn the shadow of death's darkness, we were slaves to sin and blameThen we cried out in our labor to the only One who hearsAnd the God of mercy wiped away our tears Oh give thanks to the LORD for His love endures forever We were wandering and lost, and our Father brought us home To a safe dwelling place, to a feast of joy and laughter Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good We were fools in our rebellion, with our hunger strike of prideWe were sick and growing closer to the death we should have diedThen He heard of our condition, and He called us by our namesAnd the God of glory took away our shame We were far out on the ocean, making wealth and chasing dreamsBut the waves of great destruction brought us tremb’ling to our kneesThen we cried like drunken sailors to the only One who hearsAnd the God of comfort took away our fears

Prayer of Adoration
Confession of Faith........................................................................Heidelberg Catechism #1Q: What is your only comfort in life and in death?A: That I am not my own, but belong-body and soul, in life and in death-to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to Him, Christ, by His Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him.
Confession of SinPray silently to the Lord: Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear, and what has become for us a consuming fire of judgment. Set us free from a past that we cannot change; open to us a future in which we can be changed.
Together: Grant us grace to grow more and more in your likeness and image, through Jesus Christ, the light of the world. Amen.
Assurance of Pardoning Grace ...everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name. Acts 10:43
Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken
Jesus, I my cross have taken, all to leave and follow TheeDestitute, despised, forsaken, Thou from hence my all shall bePerish every fond ambition, all I’ve sought or hoped or knownYet how rich is my condition, God and heaven are still my own
Let the world despise and leave me, they have left my Savior, tooHuman hearts and looks deceive me; Thou art not, like them, untrueO while Thou dost smile upon me, God of wisdom, love, and mightFoes may hate and friends disown me, show Thy face and all is bright
Man may trouble and distress me, ’twill but drive me to Thy breastLife with trials hard may press me, Heaven will bring me sweeter restOh, ’tis not in grief to harm me while Thy love is left to meOh, ’twere not in joy to charm me, were that joy unmixed with Thee
Haste thee on from grace to glory, armed by faith, and winged by prayerHeaven’s eternal days before thee, God’s own hand shall guide us thereSoon shall close thy earthly mission, soon shall pass thy pilgrim daysHope shall change to glad fruition, faith to sight, and prayer to praise

Hymn of Consecration As the Hart Longs for Flowing Streams
As the hart longs for flowing streams, so longs my soul for Thee O GodMy soul does thirst for the living God, when shall I come to see Thy face
My tears have fed me day and night while men have said where is your GodBut I recall as my soul pours dry the days of praise within Thy house
Why do I mourn and toil within when it is mine to hope in GodI shall again sing praise to Him, He is my help He is my God
