Women across India are showing an interest to be economically independent. Though women entrepreneurs in India are handicapped in the ma�er of organizing and running businesses on account of their generally low levels of skills and for want of support system and therefore the transi�on from homemaker to sophis�cate business woman is not that easy. But the trend is changing. Women are coming forth to the business arena with ideas to start small and medium enterprises. They are willing to be inspired by role models- the experience of other women in the business arena. The role of women entrepreneurs is especially relevant in the situa�on of large scale unemployment that the country faces. Only 14% of enterprises are run by women. Therefore, women entrepreneurship needs to be encouraged in our country.

Ministry of MSME has introduced many a�rac�ve schemes to support growth of women entrepreneurship in the country.

I am pleased to know FORTI & SMBConnect have come together to organise Advaita Awards in state of Rajasthan to encourage and recognize women entrepreneurs. The awards will honour women entrepreneurs in Rajasthan who have made it big in diverse fields of business and professions through their dedica�on and hard work.

I convey my best wishes to all the women who par�cipate and especially to the winners as well as the organizers.

It gives me immense pride and joy to witness a vision materialising into a tangible reality. The seeds of the idea were sown during our annual Start Manage Expand Series with the acknowledgement that there was a need to do something to encourage women entrepreneurs whose numbers were oddly stacked against their male counterparts. And, the recogni�on that women in India have broken the barriers of social compliance and have progressively put their steps at par with men in the business arena kindled us to push forward the idea of Advaita awards.

The underlying premise was to iden�fy successful leaders who could become the role models for aspiring women entrepreneurs. And the �me was ripe! The fillip that women entrepreneurship gained in the recent years made the climate favourable for new entrepreneurs to venture in.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the Advaita award winners. May the recogni�on and apprecia�on that they have gained by virtue of being the Advaitas become the instruments for pushing them to greater heights. Advaita- Women Entrepreneur AwardsWomen entrepreneurs are constantly s�rring up a posi�ve revolu�on of sorts. They have become an embodiment of women empowerment through their hard work and perseverance. SMBConnect conceptualised Advaita- women entrepreneur awards to honour all these women trailblazers in recogni�on of their entrepreneurial skills and contribu�on to na�on's growth.

Advaita awards is a salute to emerging Indian women entrepreneurs who are crea�ng and execu�ng scalable solu�ons with grounded reality and proving themselves in business across an array of industries. Advaita awards will be organised in different states across the length and breadth of the country.

SMBConnect hosted its maiden awards ceremony for the state of Rajasthan in collabora�on with Federa�on of Rajasthan Trade and Industry (FORTI), the largest trade and industry chamber of Rajasthan, on 25th October, 2018 in Jaipur. The event was the grandest celebra�on of splendour of women entrepreneurs in Jaipur �ll date and received tremendous apprecia�on from people of all walks of life especially from the winners of Advaita awards who were proud and thrilled at their cherished feat.

Aggregated the database of women entrepreneurs from each Indian state so that they can be called upon to nominate themselves.

Women should be the key decision-maker in the organisa�on.

Business should be registered in the state of Rajasthan.

Business should have been in opera�on for a minimum of consecu-�ve 3 years at the �me of nomina�on.

Business should fall under the ‘Women Entrepreneur Defini�on of the Government of India’.

To generate awareness about Advaita awards and to garner maximum nomina�ons-

Help centre was put in place for addressing award related queries and for helping applicants with the nomina�on process.

Ran social media campaigns on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram & Twi�er for 2 months.Sent personalized emails to women entrepreneurs in Rajasthan.

FORTI, our partner for Rajasthan, promoted the awards among its members, associates and patrons and on its social media.Press conferences were organised in Jaipur.

Advaita- Women Entrepreneur Awards envisaged as state wide awards couldn’t have been launched be�er in any state other than the state of Rajasthan- state synonymous with the enterprising spirit of ‘marwari community’. Largest state in the country geographically, Rajasthan is in close proximity to the capital of India- Delhi. It is the first state in India to have a single window mechanism for investors through an act, New Investment and investment policy along with strong industrial base with over 322 industrial areas across the state & effec�ve IT policy in place. Rajasthan also has a dedicated department for the promo�on of women entrepreneurship. Therefore, choosing Rajasthan as the first state to launch Advaita- Women Entrepreneur Awards was indeed a right decision.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of our state industry partner FORTI, MSME- DI, Jaipur and Rajasthan media who helped us to create awareness across Rajasthan in order to get a good number of women entrepreneurs to file nomina�on for different categories of awards.
