Emancipation to Inauguration: Chicago’s Black Experience Thursday, February 21st, 7PM.“Going to Chicago” was the anthem said, sung, and shouted by African-Americans during the Great Migration, forever changing the city and the nation. But Chicago’s Black Experience predates this event by some 140 years and continues to this day. From Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable to Ida B. Wells to Fred Hampton to Barack Obama, this experience is rich, deep, and profound. To learn a bit more, please join historian/musician Clarence Goodman for this riveting presentation.
