A New Outdoor ExperienceWe’re all very excited to open the new adult-only outdoor pool and poolside cafe/bar this summer! This area isn’t just for people who want to swim; we’ve added bar stools, multiple seating areas and TVs for adults who just want to enjoy a few drinks watching a game by the water. We’re also adding many new items to the poolside menu this year, including hard seltzers, two sizes of wine pours, and many new adult beverage options. We’ve added a grill and a fryer for fresh burgers, grilled salmon and chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and fries, and expanded our fresh selection with new signature salads and fresh vegetable cups. Contact: Heather Herlinger

Please Bring Your Pool TowelsThe laundry services at the Club were not designed to accommodate outdoor summer pool towel usage. The Club made the mistake over the past years of not enforcing the restriction of shower & workout towels at the outdoor pool like we had in previous years. We apologize for this. Due to the limitations of our laundry facilities which cannot be expanded, the Club will once again be restricting Club towels to the outdoor pool. The Club will make beach towels available for purchase at cost with special embroidery options.

Looking Ahead to Summer

We have all the fun covered when school is out or winter weather hits! Sno Daze at the Club happens when schools are closed due to winter weather. From 10am-2pm, we spend our day making crafts, running on the indoor field and playing games in the Children’s Center. We also host a Holiday Kids Camp on January 20th and February 17th from 9am-4pm where we play active games, conduct science experiments, go swimming and have fun with new friends. Before-care is available at 7:30am and after-care is available until 6pm for Sno Daze and Holiday Camps for additional fees. If you’re looking for something you can do with your children, the Parent-Child Playdates we host twice a month might be just what you need. Playdates are a chance for families with kids aged 2 and up to play together with Legos, parachute games, Play-Doh and more over pizza and lemonade. Free to members; RSVP in the Children’s Center. Club WiFi Update After collaborating with Cincinnati Bell to improve the Club’s WiFi, we learned that a high bandwidth demand was causingmembers to be kicked off the network. Since then, we’ve doubled the speed and bandwidth, enhancing the signal in remote areas of the Club for improved user experience during peak times of the day. As a reminder, you can access the “Cincinnati Sports Club” network with a quick login from a new page in your web browser. Re-check your network connection and refresh the page if this doesn’t work the first time. If you have any issues please let us know. It will be a huge assistance. If you can be specific with your issue, i.e. where in the Club it occurred, what is occurring, type of mobile device etc.

On the Tech Side

30th Anniversary Member Spotlight Carroll Roberts, Charter Member, January 1990I was just a single guy looking for a place to work out and socialize when I first heard about the Club. It was still being built then; I visited the construction trailer and was sold on becoming a member after I saw the architectural drawings. Over the years, the Club has become a home away from home, and an office away from the office. I married and had two children since then,

so the Club has been a family experience for more than 21 years now. The kids learned to swim here and participated on the swim team for several years while my wife, Kathy, and I have enjoyed a great variety of activities both together and on our own. We’ve met many great friends over the years and love the workout experience here; we are still very active today and continue to explore new program options all the time. There’s no question that the Club is an extension of our family; we are grateful for all the people and memories, and to be part of a place that’s always working to improve.

Employee SpotlightBrad Messenger, Private Trainer, May 1993For me, the Club is a place where I’ve become someone who can teach what I know and love to clients and coworkers every day. At the same time, I get to learn even more from those I teach, which is a truly wonderful feeling. I love the fact that I can come to work and help people feel better, that I get paid to improve the quality of life for many.

What could be better than that? The most important Club value to me is Servant Leadership, because I’m simply happier when I’m able to help others.

Android App Update In the Spring of 2019, Apple changed requirements for App developers which limited developers abilities to create multiple apps under a single account. This has affected the functionality of the Android App for the Club. We are working with our developers to rebuild the Android App. The App is still fully functional on the Apple device. Thank you for your patience.

The Social Life

The CSC social calendar is filled with opportunities for adults and kids alike to have fun and make new friends in a party-like atmosphere. Check the Club app often for the most up-to-date schedule of athletic and leisurely events.

Family Experiences Friday Night Happy Hours are back! Every Friday from January through March, we get together on the indoor soccer field and throw a themed family party. Join us for Happy Hour from 5:30pm to 8:30pm for complementary bites, inflatables for kids and games for all ages. This season brings Camping, Ninja and Fiesta themes, with a new Irish band and a Frank Sinatra cover band set to take the stage. For kids aged 6-10, the Game Room Social on January 18th at 12pm is sure to be a hit. We meet in the game room to munch on refreshments while playing friendly rounds of foosball, ping pong, carpetball and more. Contact: Michael Downs

Adult Get-TogethersThe adult-only Tuesday Tasting remains one of the most popular events at the Club. Spend an evening tasting food from delicious

Cincinnati restaurants. With a drink in hand, mingle with new friends and play games for gift card prizes. Every third Tuesday of the month from 6pm-8pm. The food tasting is free, drink tastings are $7, and guests are $10 per person due to popular member demand. Limit 2 guests per membership. RSVP on the Club app or at the front desk. Contact: Michael Downs

January 21st: Food by Allyn’s Café, music by Mark Kline, $7 sips by New Riff BourbonFebruary 18th: Food by Karrikin Spirits, music by Steve Thomas

Party on the Courts Our social schedule doesn’t stop with fun hangouts. Spend an evening on the pickleball, platform tennis or basketball courts for a more active take on a CSC party. Snack on complementary food and drinks in between friendly pick-up games at the 21-and-Up Basketball Social on January 20th from 3pm-6pm, or check out one of the monthly racquet socials. There’s a Pickleball and Platform Tennis Social on January 24th and a Platform Social on February 28th; both are from 6pm-8pm and cost $17 for members or $20 for guests. Contact: Jeff Roman

Summer Food and Alcohol Standards

Please remember that Ohio State Law prohibits outside alcohol and glass containers of any kind from being brought onto our campus. As your home away from home, we want you to have fun and relax poolside. In anticipation of summer, we’ve developed standards to improve the outdoor experience for our members: • Food service will close 30 minutes before the main pool closes. • Poolside Cafe will offer beer and seltzers for sale. The

Poolside Bar will feature mixed drinks, beer, wine and seltzers.• An ice and water dispenser will be located near the

Poolside Cafe for easy water cup service. This will not be able to accommodate ice for coolers.

• A gratuity will be applied to all Poolside Bar purchases.

• The Poolside Cafe is designed to efficiently accom-modate slow or busy times. Since there will be a self-service ice and water station, there will be a small charge for ice and water cups at the cafe windows.

• For the Adult Pool Complex - No coolers are permitted. All food and beverage must be purchased on site.

• For the Main Pool Complex - coolers, food and non-alcoholic beverages may be brought in.

• Of course, per Ohio State Law, no glass is permitted in or around any pool. Any coolers brought to the main pool complex may be checked by staff for glass and/or alcohol upon entering or at any time of your stay.

The Club features one of the largest basketball courts you can find at a health club. Mix and mingle at the upcoming basketball social.

The Vutoro Family of Hyde Park (Cyrus, Lincoln & Leo) were among the more than 230 members and their guests who enjoyed three seatings of Dining with Santa this past holiday season.

Teaching the Kids Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Our kids racquet programs are all about getting kids on the court early and often! Junior Indoor Tennis Clinics have been quite the popular winter crash-course; head pro Jeff Roman teaches kids aged 3-9 tennis basics with quick-start nets every Tuesday from 4pm-5:30pm on the indoor soccer field. Register at the Club or on the app. Contact: Jeff RomanIn addition to (or instead of) Indoor Tennis, the Future Champions program is an introduction to Squash for 5-9 year olds. Every Saturday in January and February at 9:15am at the Club, we create fun ways to work on hand-eye coordination, ball contact, fitness and proper court movement, providing an easy introduction to the healthiest sport on the planet. Program fees apply.

Once they’ve progressed with the basics, Junior Leagues is the next step in a kid’s Squash journey. Matches are held every Saturday at 12pm from January through April at The T, giving 9-18 year olds an opportunity to show and grow their skills in a round robin, fun and competitive format. Read more at tsquashacademy.org. Contact: Jon Geekie. Program fees apply.
