Pavement Management ?
PM is a decision making process used to make cost-effective decisions about: Design, Construction, Maintenance, and Rehabilitation of pavements
You could add other activities such as planning, budgeting, …etc.
Basically, any activity related to “pavements” could be included in an overall PM system.

What is a PMS? Decision support TOOL used by
pavement personnel to assist in making cost-effective decisions concerning pavements

Network-Level PMS Analysis
Addresses broad pavement maintenance and rehabilitation issues.
Gives general guidance on Fund needs and the level of treatment.

Network Level Questions What is the current health of the
pavement network?.... Condition index Which pavement sections need work? …
Identification Which sections should be worked on
first? ….. Prioritization How much money do we need? …
budgeting What impact will funding changes have?

Basic Network-Level PMS Components
1. Inventory2. Condition Assessment3. Needs Analysis4. Prioritization5. Impacts of funding decisions6. Feedback
Will be addressed in details later
