This exercise book includes 48 short texts. For each text, five questions are specially designed to help students practise answering questions that begin with a specific interrogative word. The five Ws - who, what, where, when, why - along with the word how in questions such as how long, how old, how much and how many, are repeated several times in this document. Which is another interrogative word frequently asked in the questions the students have to answer. In most cases, students have to spot the answers directly in the text so that they can really focus on understanding the questions.

Texts are ordered according to verb tenses. The first part includes texts that use only the simple present. In the second part, some verbs are conjugated in the future and in the present. In the third part, texts include past tenses in addition.

The second part of each page has been designed to improve vocabulary. Students have to highlight the required words in the text. They then have to carefully read the sentence which uses the word to try to comprehend the meaning of the word. To make sure they understand correctly, students have to link the word to its corresponding definition.
