dThis standard includes safety requirements.This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 147 Cranes Safety (Secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom),Working Group WG 2 Design General.The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau(Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee), Coordinating Committee CEN/TC 147-ISO/TC 96 Krane.It should be noted that the term crane as in this standard includes all machines for cyclic lifting, or cycliclifting and handling, of loads suspended on hooks or other load lifting attachments. This means that thisstandard applies to all other equipment, such as winches, which meets this definition.This standard concretizes the basic requirements set out in Annex I of the EU Machinery Directive (Directive98/37/EC) relating to cranes to be placed on the EEA market, with the intent of simplifying the means ofproving conformity with such requirements.Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Official Journal of the European Union, amanufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive(the so-called presumption of conformity).The European Standards referred to in clause 2 of the EN have been published as the correspondingDIN EN Standards with the same number. The International Standard referred to is similar to the GermanStandard DIN 15001-1:1973.The amendments to DIN EN 13001-2:2005-04 are indicated by a single vertical line along the left margin.The corrigenda to DIN EN 13001-2:2005-04 are indicated by a double vertical line along the margin.AmendmentsThis standard differs from DIN EN 13001-2:2005-04 and DIN EN 13001-2 Corrigendum 1:2006-11 as follows:a) Corrigendum 1:2006 has been incorporated.b) Amendment A1:2006 has been incorporated.Previous editionsDIN EN 13001-2 Corrigendum 1: 2006-11
