Much Appreciation . . .

To Trent for his valuable assistance in the formative stages of this project, and to Christopher, in the later stages, who helped to put the glow in Indigo Moon.

To Pete Sears, for adding his musical talents and mojo to the album – a great honor. As always, to Steven Halpern for his creative contributions, wisdom, and vision. Also to Constance Demby for sharing her feedback and unique perspective.

I’d also like to thank those in the media who have supported my music, including the radio programs Hearts of Space, and Echoes as well as the publications that have reviewed it, and all those who have listened, enjoyed, and responded from around the world.

And with gratitude to all who lent their positive vibes, musical and otherwise...

The use of headphones may provide an added dimension to the listening experience.

In addition to being with the Jefferson Starship for thirteen years, Pete Sears played with Rod Stewart on a number of his biggest hits, as well as performing , recording, and sitting in with a very long list of major artists including Jerry Garcia, Tina Turner, Sly, members of The Rolling Stones, Santana, Allman Brothers, Journey and many others, even jamming with my all-time favorite guitarist Jimi Hendrix in London. To have someone of his experience and accomplishment on my recording is a high point in my musical career.

Steven Halpern is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the New Age music genre and has produced over 60 albums. He was named “one of the 30 most inuential keyboardists of the last 30 years” by Keyboard magazine. He has recorded and/or jammed with a wide range of artists, including Paul Horn, Babatunde Olatunji, Larry Coryell, Al DiMeola, Frank Zappa, and Rick Derringer. This is his second special guest appearance on my recordings, having also played and composed two of the songs on my previous CD, Atlantis Rising.

This album marks the rst time I’ve had voice on my recordings, and was a perfect opportunity to work with two of my favorite vocalists Eve West (tracks 1,10,11) and Stara .:. (track 8).

All ute sounds on the CD (“Cloud Forest” and “Dreams In Motion”) are played on the guitar-synth.

The “nature” sounds on “Cloud Forest” were all generated on synthesizers to create an exotic other-worldly jungle.

Some of my signature guitar sounds are created with the E-bow, an electronic device that gives a violin-like bowed effect, and the Sustainiac, a custom circuit built into the guitar which provides harmonics and innite sustain on all the strings.

Michael Bloch, who plays bass on tracks 3 and 11, was a member of the 60’s rock group Fraternity Of Man, who shared the stage with Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin, and whose music was featured in the soundtrack to the classic lm Easy Rider.Michael Bloch, Steve Kestin, who plays keyboards on track 3, and myself have been exploring the zen of jamming for a number of years.

“Silver Wind” features my long-ago college roommate Chuck Lettes, who I recently re-connected with on-line after many years. Since those early days, Chuck has gone on to become a nationally-known pedal steel and lap steel guitarist and a featured guest at steel guitar conventions. Being able to share musically on this level at this stage of our careers was an unexpected pleasure... and an interesting way to collaborate, sending tracks back and forth between San Francisco and Denver.

“Mystic Voyager” offers a bit of sonic exploration, sometimes incorporating up to eight tracks of electric guitar and guitar-synthesizers to create a psychedelic tapestry inspired, in part by Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.

“Dreams In Motion” reveals my musical roots and inuences in a contemporary context. As someone who has played guitar in rock bands for decades before drifting into ambient music, I wanted at least one song on the album to reect that facet of my musical spectrum. The title is an afrmation about making our dreams reality, which is what this CD has been for me. The opportunity to create my music and add the sonic colors of so many wonderful friends and special guests is certainly the realization of my dream. May all your dreams come true as well...
