Welcome…Thank you for choosing

Cascade Christian Schools’

Summer Camp for your child’s

summer experience. THRIVE

2013: MISSION POSSIBLE! is nine

exciting weeks of adventure. Your child’s secret service

mission, should he choose to accept it, is to have mega-fun

this summer at Spy Camp! Your children will experience the

electrifying fun of these special missions as followers of Jesus.

They’ll go undercover, make their own top secret ID badges,

learn fi ngerprinting, make electroshock bubble gum, and see

real robots, high-tech spy gadgets, and unusual guests. Fun

physical training will help them learn to rescue others, defend

themselves, and encounter how all life’s missions are possible

through Christ! Our professional counselors and educators are Christian men

and women dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, activity-

packed summer experience at three locations to serve you.

Many of our staff members return year after year because they

love working with our summer camp kids.

Again this year, registered campers will have the opportunity

to ADD-ON weekly swimming to their camp experience. For an

additional $67, any registered camper may add on the weekly

off -site trip for swimming. Older campers (5th and up) may

opt for the all-day trip to Wild Waves instead (see page 4 for

details). Please check out our active catalog on our website

for any new additions. What an adventure! This mission is altogether POSSIBLE. We

look forward to partnering with you to make summer 2013

your “Spy Campers” best experience ever.

THRIVE 2013 OverviewTHRIVE 2013 is made up of four components: Day Camp, Sports Camps and

Clinics, Enrichment Classes, and Leadership Training. Students may attend any one or a combination of the four.

Day Camp combines the fun, friendships and adventure of camp with the excitement of intellectual discovery focusing on personal/social, spiritual, and leadership development at all grade levels.

Enrichment Classes can be taken either as an enhancement to THRIVE Day Camp or on their own for students not attending Day Camp. These exciting classes off er students the opportunity to learn new skills, develop their talents, receive academic support, or just experience something new for fun. With so many classes to choose from, your child’s summer will truly be an enriching experience!

Enrichment Class Benefi ts

Leadership Training (Puyallup Campus only) for all Junior High campers includes exciting day camp activities and fi eld trips plus participation in leadership training activities that concentrate on positive reinforcement, mentoring, responsibility and trust. They also have the option to add the Tuesday Wild Waves trip (see details under “Add-ons” - page 4).

The Junior Counselor Program: THRIVE Leadership off ers a valuable opportunity for students to participate in a leadership training practicum. Registered Puyallup campus campers who are entering at least 7th grade in the fall may apply for a limited number of positions as Junior Counselors. Junior Counselors will participate in all THRIVE Leadership activities in a leadership capacity, receive a 40% discount on their weekly summer camp tuition, and attend a special Junior Counselor party.

Junior Counselors assist staff by organizing and participating in games, activities, arts and crafts, and fi eld trips with the campers. They serve as Christian examples by demonstrating the 3R’s (respect, responsibility and positive relationships) towards campers, other JCs, and staff .

Page 5: CCS THRIVE Summer Programs 2013

To become a Junior Counselor: First, register for camp. Then, apply to be a Junior Counselor by emailing two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher and another from a pastor or youth pastor, to Kathi Renn, (Puyallup Site Coordinator) at [email protected]. Registration for leadership does not automatically guarantee JC acceptance. Selection of Junior Counselors is based on availability, letters of recommendation, and personal interview during the fi rst week of camp.
