CSCU Credit Unions’ Next Steps Continued
Thoroughly plan on your Friends and Family Pilot. —GEN 025 outlines additional information for the Friends and Family pilot including tips on which types of
merchants to test transactions through. —Utilize the FIS e-library on instructions on how to issue a Pilot chip card as well as how to determine if a
transaction was authorized as a chip.
After your Friends and Family Pilot, request to have your Pilot program/transition end date changed. • Standard Time Frames for maintenance updates will be applicable. • As stated previously, table updates can be submitted for TBS as of 9/30/15 and for BASE2000 as of
9/15/15. • Reference GEN 025 communication if you have questions about what settings were updated.
• Note: We’ve found that a high percentage of our Credit Unions will be reissuing as chip after CCME is completed, so we’ve elected to change the pin delay time frame from 3 to 7 days. —If you are going to be sending out only new cards as chip, you will want to keep this in mind since new
cards typically have a shorter production time frame than reissues so you might want to have these setting updated.

CSCU Credit Unions’ Next Steps Continued
• Keep in mind that not all merchant types are currently chip enabled or will be as of October. – 75% of Retailers will miss the October deadline. – Liability shift date for Automatic Fuel Dispensers (AFD) chip card terminals is not until 2017. – ATM liability shift begins in 2016 for MasterCard and 2017 for Visa.
• FIS suggests using the payment networks ATM locator services to find chip enabled ATMs in your area. – Visa - http://www.visa.com/atmlocator/index.jsp – MasterCard - http://www.mastercard.com/ie/consumer/atm-locator.html
• Member Education Resource
– The http://GoChipCard.com website focuses on consumer education, and includes valuable tools for merchants and issuers, such as a frequently asked questions list, an infographic and links to other EMV education tools. This and other educational resources FIS have previously provided will help ensure your institution and supporting teams are ready to support a seamless, chip card roll-out to your members.
