To access a list of ALL forms, click the Forms button or press (F4) or
(Ctrl+Space).
Delete the copy of the form.

Add a new copy of the form.
Remove the form from the list of opened forms (data entered
remains included in the tax return). You can also use the form options in this panel to close forms as well as to add and
delete form copies.
To search for a specific form, enter a keyword. The list is
automatically filtered as you type. Press Enter to open the
desired form.

Grey cell indicates a calculated cell. Double-click or press F6 to jump to the source. Type in a new value to manually override the calculated value.
Overridden cells are shown in orange. To remove the override, right-click in the cell and select Remove Override or press F2 or Ctrl+U.
You can use the cell options in this panel to remove an override
or jump to a source cell.

Type the box number or select it from the drop-down
list and enter the amount. Then, press the Enter key to type the next box number.
The amount entered will automatically be transferred to the correct box number.

Use the Diagnostics view menu to review CCH iFirm Tax
messages. Most resolved diagnostics will disappear from
the list.

Click Hide diagnostic for diagnostics that are
resolved but still display on the list.
Diagnostics are categorized according to their importance.
Place your cursor over an indicator to see the diagnostic type:
Red = errorYellow = warning
Blue = informationPlace your cursor over cells with a red triangle to see
the diagnostics text.
Use the filter tabs to display only certain types
of diagnostics.
Audit trail of hidden diagnostics is always
available.

Diagnostics hidden by error can be returned to the main list by
clicking Show diagnostic.
Always view number of unresolved diagnostics and
click to display them.

Review Marks, Comments and Spreadsheets
Benefits
▪ Review marks allow you to be more efficient when preparing the tax return. Choose between four types: First review, Second review, Question, Problem.
▪ Use comments to explain the amounts entered in a field, and to exchange information between users.
▪ You can apply review marks and comments in four different ways: right-click, shortcut keys, review mode and by selecting them from the right-hand pane.
▪ Use spreadsheets to provide a calculation breakdown from an Excel-type spreadsheet.

Delete a review mark or comment by clicking Remove.

Use a spreadsheet to provide breakdown calculations for a specific line in the tax return.

Select the Data entered this year view to see only the information
entered in the tax return this year.

The Review tab allows you to efficiently review the tax return by
displaying only the relevant data cells.
Select the desired filter according to type of review.
The Imported option will allow you to display all data
imported from the CRA.
Data can be modified in this column and will be
updated to the tax return.

Tax settings
Click EFILE information to access your user
settings.
Enter the EFILE credentials in the Tax tab of the User settings of staff members
who are responsible for EFILING.
Click Savewhen done.
Use the EFILE filter to ensure that all EFILE diagnostics are resolved.
Red colour EFILE diagnostics must be resolved in order for the tax
return to become eligible for EFILE.

All EFILE statuses at a glance for the entire family.
Once eligible, select EFILE Returns to EFILE the T1/TP1
returns and/or the T1135 form.Select T1013 authorizations to
EFILE the T1013 form.

Eligible tax returns are automatically selected. Clear the box next to the tax returns that
you do not want to transmit.

Click here to attach supporting documents to EFILE with the T2 return.
Same for supporting documents to transmit with the Québec CO-17.

Select T2 or CO-17, select the type of
document from the list and enter a description.
Click Upload and savewhen done.

Eligible corporate tax returns will be selected by default and the number of supporting documents

Select Import using the Auto-fill my return service to download tax
slips and opening balances.
You can also download the taxpayer’s Notice of Assessment once the tax
return is EFILED and accepted.
Select the members of the family for whom you want to download
data and click the Download button to open the CRA web portal.

default option Add a new (slip name) to create a new copy
Compare imported data to current data in the tax return.

Tax settings
Create tax returns by importing Taxprep client files.
Click the Roll forward button to create a current-year tax return from a previous-year tax return.

Note that permanent information, opening balances and comparative
information will be saved.
Click to roll forward the selected tax returns.

Other software programs allow you to roll forward tax returns from ProFile,
TaxCycle, Taxprep and Cantax.
Click Select a file to select files from another software program
