Rockland Conservation and Service Corps Members and Anne Christian-Reuter Rockland CCE Horticulture Community Educator, hosted a “Weed Walk” on July 16th at Rockland CCE. The goal of this walk was to bring awarness of Invasive Species in Rockland County to the attention of the general public. They discussed with residents of Rockland County the impact Invasive Plant and Insect species have on the environment, by showing them samples while on their walk throughout the Rockland CCE Education Center Campus. Below you can see pictures from the “Weed Walk.” Rockland Conservation and Service Corps Members have also played a role in presenting this year’s summer reading program “Spiders, Heroes of the Garden” with Rockland CCE Master Gardener Volunteers. They prepared drawings of spiders, as well as participated in the presentations throughout libraries in Rockland County. Spiders, Heroes of the Garden has become increasingly popular, due to the hard work and dedication from Master Gardener Volunteers and the Rockland County Conservation and Service Corps.
