Dr Oates, a facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon, sees an 80% upsurge in requests for ‘man-overs’ including his non-surgical Calibre procedure to increase phallic girth in December, in readiness for summer holidays.

“Men are increasingly seeking procedures, their attitude to cos-metic enhancement has shifted,” Dr Oates told City Circular.

"Like women, bigger is often seen as better when it comes to filling out bathers, whether biki-ni or budgie smugglers so it’s un-surprising that among the most requested by men for summer is the ‘Calibre’ procedure, or non-surgical phallic enhancement using dermal fillers."

Dr. Oates regularly sees men lacking summer self esteem in all areas of their life due to mas-culinity being entwined with size and prowess.

“Studies show that up to 60% of men are unsatisfied with the size or appearance of their pe-nis,” he says. “When men feel inadequate, it can have a major negative impact on their self-esteem.

“But when men feel more com-fortable in their appearance this can also translate through to more confidence in other areas of life.”

Dr Oates has performed over 150 Calibre procedures on men as young as 22 to men in their 60s, he is now training other doctors in the technique.

After a detailed and discreet consultation, numbing gel is ap-plied before treatment and re-sults are noticeable immediately. As it is non-surgical, there’s little down time for a big upswing of warm weather confidence.
