This catalog explains the typical features and functions of the MELSEC-Q Series programmable controllers and CC-Link IE Controller Network modules and does not provide restrictions and other information on usage and module combinations. When using the products, always read the user's manuals of the products.Mitsubishi will not be held liable for damage caused by factors found not to be the cause of Mitsubishi; opportunity loss or lost profits caused by faults in the Mitsubishi products; damage, secondary damage, accident compensation caused by special factors unpredictable by Mitsubishi; damages to products other than Mitsubishi products; and to other duties.
Ethernet-based Open Network
On the shop floor, the amount of data that each controller exchanges with other devices or Enterprise information systems is increasing more than ever. Mitsubishi Electric supports the Gigabit industrial Ethernet open network to realize these growing demands in manufacturing. CC-Link IE based on Gigabit fiber optic Ethernet medium allows connection of various devices including 3rd party for achieving the high speed and large data capacity requirements.

Performance of cyclic data update of network type shared memory is enhanced.Transfer delay time is shortened and application waiting time also can be reduced.
Network type shared memory (cyclic data) with 256K bytes is realized on one network. Dividing network is not necessary so that a system that handles a large capacity data is easily realized.
High speed data update
Large capacity memory
Utilizing Ethernet standard cables and connectors can achieve substantial reduction in costs.
Easy data refresh of network shared memory
Data consistency guaranteed by station
Automatic refresh between network shared memory and programmable controller device
Using read/write method of memory, data transmission is easy.
No need for additional applications (user program) to assure consistency
Sharing data between controllers is easy because there is no need to be conscious of the network.
Check function for detecting error points and wrongly inserted ports of optical fiber cable is enhanced.
Supports input of an external power supply to CC-Link IE Controller Network modules and interface boards.Even if the programmable controller CPU or personal computer is shut down, communication continues without having to rely on the 'loop back' function.

Visualization of network connection status
Visually displays a whole system's network connection status such as the error point when a trouble occurs. Maintenance cost can be reduced.

*3: It is a function to share cyclic data with stations in the same shared group. By receiving cyclic data from the stations in the shared group, the link refresh points are reduced, and the link refresh time is shortened.(This function can be used when the control station and the station to set the shared group are Universal model QCPU.)

From promotion to specification development, the CLPA supports the spread of CC-Link.
If the distance between stations is separated by 550m or more (between factory A and C, between factory B and C), the maximum distance between stations can be extended up to 15km by inserting two of these products and connecting with single mode optical fiber cables.
1. This optical fiber cable, recommended by the CC-Link Partner Association, can be used safely and worry-free.
2. A full lineup of cable is available, including types for use inside panels, indoors, outdoors, and reinforced type for outdoors, allowing use in various environments.
3. The newly developed thin cable (for indoor and outdoor use) incorporates a cord bundling structure, allowing safe use even in confined factory cable-laying environments.
4. The indoor use and outdoor use cables are free of tension members, and have an allowable tension equivalent to the reinforced type for outdoor use.
5. The outdoor use cable is waterproof, and can be used even in flooded or temporary submerged areas.
6. By attaching the enclosed protective holder (patent pending), breakage at the connector base can be prevented and space in the panel can be saved.
7. A connector boot, with improved bending characteristics, reduces breakage at the connector base.

The Japan-original open field network, CC-Link. CLPA (CC-Link Partner Association), in which Mitsubishi Electric also participates, was established with a view to spreading CC-Link to the world. Through vigorous activities such as planning and running trade shows and seminars, conducting conformance tests, and providing information by catalogs, pamphlets, and the Internet, the number of CLPA partner manufacturers and CC-Link compatible products is increasing steadily, and the CLPA is becoming a driving force for the globalization of CC-Link.
Exhibitions and seminars are held to recruit new partner members.
