“We love this stuff.” “Just generally awesome.” “This is gold!” “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

… these are just some of the comments we’ve received from programme directors, announcers and producers from commercial radio stations and networks throughout New Zealand, in response to our special ‘Love It’ programming.

‘Love It’ is CBA’s sub-brand for the short format programmes we create for Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, ANZAC, Waitangi Day, Valentine’s Day and other special times of year. They’re designed to add colour and fun, but also to make listeners think. They’re clever, entertaining and emotionally moving… and they aim, whenever possible, to communicate essential aspects of the Christian message. To spread love and hope; to be salt and light on NZ’s airwaves.

“For some years, we’ve dreamed of enlarging the scope of our ‘Love It’ programming,” says CBA’s CEO Phil Guyan. “We know there’s significant potential for expansion, but we’ve never had the manpower to make the most of these opportunities.”

Until this year.

Asher Bastion recently came on board to lead ‘Love It’; to expand our programming and increase our reach. We want to be responsive to current news events, and establish stronger relationships with local and regional stations. We’ve already forged lasting relationships with the programmers and announcer teams of the major radio networks, but there’s a large, barely-touched audience represented by the plethora of smaller, local radio stations.

The opportunities are hugely exciting.

You have made all of this possible through your faithful support of CBA – thank you. Please see the reverse to see how you can help us take the next step with ‘Love It’.

CBA… GOING LOCAL

COME WITH US… BACK IN TIME TO 33AD

On Good Friday, we transported our audience 2,000 years back in time with a powerful series of realistic news bulletins that took listeners right into the breaking story of Jesus’

trial and crucifixion. It was voiced by Newstalk ZB’s Bernadine Oliver-Kirby and reporter Hannah Bartlett. Have a listen at cba.org.nz/33AD

MARK YOUR DIARY: MEDIA PRAYER DAY – 3 JULY 2016

This July, CBA will again invite churches to pray for the people of New Zealand’s media. Media Prayer Day is the single largest unifying event for NZ Christians. Last time,

in 2014, more than 800 churches took part. We’ll send more details next month… meanwhile, please mark your diary for Sunday 3 July and visit MediaPrayerDay.com

IT’S A GIRL!We’re delighted to announce that CBA’s award-winning producer Josh Couch and his wife Stephenie have had a beautiful baby girl named Madeline Rose. All three are doing well. Praise God for the joy of new life!

“ I don’t go to church, but this has been a great show.”

to all of you who made our Easter programming possible. Your generosity was wonderful. It was our biggest Easter ever, broadcasting on three nationwide radio networks for a total of 28 hours, to more than 300,000 listeners. We also felt it was our most innovative and ‘on-mission’ Easter programming ever.

“ One of our new Christians told me that her husband was listening to CBA on RadioLIVE on Good Friday night. He has been unsupportive of her decision to follow Christ and she has hardly been able to attend church… [yet] he was listening to CBA’s programming! This was so encouraging to her and us.”

“ How refreshing to hear discussion about religion in such an open, clever and modern way.”

“ You guys are doing an amazing work in a difficult environment.”

“ Your courage to discuss ‘Truth’ is commendable.”

Here’s some feedback from listeners:
