A Jury Panel comprising of industry experts will come out with a SHORT LIST after evaluating the data furnished by the nominees.
Shortlisted nominees – Innovation Category - may be invited for an online interactive session with the Jury to clarify aspects that they may seek.
Shortlisted nominees -- Great Ideas Category -- will be invited to make a 5-minute online presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A before the Jury to enable them to select a Awardee under this Category.
Shortlisted nominees chosen under the above two categories will be contacted and co-ordinated for a short video for the Final Jury Meet.
The Awardees will be chosen by Final Jury Meet which will consist of leaders from industry and venture capitalists.
The 9th edition of CavinKare – MMA Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards will be presented on Wednesday, 23rd September 2020 at 6.00pm.

The GenesisSince its inception in the year 2011, the CavinKare-MMA Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards have stood out in its steadfast support of innovative ventures promoted by small-scale enterprises and business people.
The 9th edition in the series will honor entrepreneurs who embody the ’dreamer,’ ’innovator,’ and ’ideator’ qualities of the late Shri. R. Chinnikrishnan (father of C.K Ranganathan, Chairman & Managing Director, CavinKare Pvt Ltd).
The Award honours innovative entrepreneurs based on the innovation’s uniqueness, its benefit to people, and ability to be scalable. The award commemorates the memory of Late R Chinnikrishnan, widely regarded as the Father of the Sachet Revolution.
GREAT IDEAS come when you least expect it to come. They don’t happen when you want them to happen. However, we believe that you can set yourself and your environment up to be ready for your next big idea which will impact the world. Yes there is a structured approach to innovation howsoever oxymoronic it might sound.
“Great Ideas” deliver high impact innovation. So this year too, in addition to honouring three innovators, the CavinKare-MMA Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards 2020 will also be presented to a Great Idea.
When R. Chinnikrishnan pioneered sachet packaging, his philosophy was simple: “Whatever the rich can enjoy, the common man should be able to afford.” Today, his innovations are visible in every corner shop. This award is our way of keeping his vision alive.
The mission of this award is to identify and showcase innovative organizations, which have introduced breakthrough changes and can become role models for other Indians.
CavinKare Pvt Ltd (CKPL) and Madras Management Association (MMA) would like to reach out to every single innovator in this regard.

Eligibility criteria for nomination
Uniqueness – The product or service must be the first of its kind
Benefit to people – It should benefit the end consumers in a real-time scenario
Scalability – The product or service must be capable of being scalable within a reasonable time
Uniqueness – A Great Idea, which can become a business opportunity
Benefit to people – It should benefit the end consumers in a real-time scenario
Scalability – The idea, when implemented, is capable of being scalable within a reasonable time
CKPL and MMA will function as mentors when required by the awardees under Innovation Category and provide mentoring support on marketing, finance, designing, packaging, R&D, and HR.
For Great Ideas, if needed guidance will be given as appropriate to convert into business.
Direct access to the top talent available in the industry for a year
CKPL and MMA will have no financial stake in both Categories chosen for the awards
Support for Patenting the product/services (wherever required & feasible)
Support to Carry out trademark, packaging, and design registration
Facilitate tie-up with banks & financial institutions
The Nominee should be a citizen of India.
The registered office of the company, firm or individual should be in Tamil Nadu or Pondicherry.
Only small-scale enterprises with an annual turnover, not exceeding Rs.25 crore for the year 2018-19 will be eligible. The turnover criteria are not applicable to the nominees under Great Ideas category.
This is an application process based award. Aspirants must submit an entry form available online or through a mail.
Aspirants or nominees in the respective category must send a brief write-up in not more than 300 words – ”How your Business is innovative/different” or “Why My Idea is Great!”.
