Part of a reflection called ‘At the end of the day’, by Flor McCarthy.
Each day we cast our net into the sea of life.
And at the end of the day we have a catch, sometimes small, sometimes large.
May we take time to sift through that catch.
And may you Lord, give us the wisdom to know what to keep and what to throw
away.

The kingdom is here, it returns, it struggles to flourish anew. Christ’s resurrection everywhere calls forth
seeds of that new world; even if they are cut back, they grow again, for the resurrection is already secretly
woven into the fabric of this history.

Canticle of Sirach
Sunday26thJulyMorningPrayer
In comparing the reign of God to the merchant’s
quest, Jesus shows us God’s priorities. In comparing it to the buried treasure, he asks
us what our priorities are. Solomon, choosing wisdom over wealth, models a truly
biblical scale of values.
