79th Annual Educational Conference Catholic Medical Association October 28, 2010 My Dear Friends in Christ: I am delighted to welcome all of you to the Archdiocese of Seattle for the Catholic Medical Association’s 79th Annual Educational Conference. As you know, the theme of this year’s conference is “Restoring the Integrity of Medicine: An Imperative for a Christian Anthropology.” I believe that it is important to remind ourselves that integrity needs to be the foundation of the physician’s relationships with patients, the wider community and with Jesus Christ. In our secular world, doctors are pressured to conform their lives and practices to the demands of science and the bottom line, and neglect the life-giving joy and spiritual fulfillment that come to those who see Jesus Christ in the face of every sick and suffering human being. I hope this conference gives all of us the opportunity to prayerfully reflect on the ways that our relationships and interactions with one another need to mirror the healing of mind, body and spirit modeled by Christ the Divine Physician. I ask that God may bless all who attend this gathering with a renewed joy in using their healing gifts and talents to bring hope, alleviate suffering and glorify God. With warmest regards and wishes, I remain Sincerely yours in Christ, Most Rev. Alex J. Brunett Apostolic Administrator

When is a hospital not just a hospital?
When it finds emergency shelter for families in crisis.
When it provides primary healthcare for children without access.
When it provides prenatal care and delivery to uninsured and underinsured women.
When it donates millions in free medical care to those in need.
When it partners with other organizations to provide dozens of critical humanitarian services to its neighbors, including the poor and uninsured.
In short, when it’s St. Mary Medical Center.
Insurance Counselors are available to help families enroll in CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance
