Support the Production of our Bulletin Producing our own bulletin allows us to meet the needs of the three lan-
guages. If we were to send this bulletin out to be produced, we would have
to have one bulletin in English only for everyone and the publications of the
Readings in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end. Help us by
Supporting our advertisers and also by placing an ad in our bulletin for
a year. Please call the office for more information.

MASS INTENTIONS My brothers and sisters, this weekend the readings present to us the story of two wid-ows. Stories of faith and generosity. Some-thing to note is that both Elijah and Jesus exalt these two widows. Why? In Jesus’ time if a husband died, his widow was in a precarious situation if she did not have an adult son to protect her and care for her. The widow from the first reading has a young son who still needs to be nourished. As a woman of faith, she puts her trust in God. She offers her hospitality to others and God rewarded her generosity for shar-ing what she has with Elijah who was hun-gry. In the Gospel Jesus exalts another widow. Jesus states that she gave out of her pov-erty, her whole livelihood, He praised her generosity. Like the widow from the Old Testament, this widow had nothing left to rely on. She was rich, truly rich in her faith. These two poor widows are a good exam-ple for all of us as models of charity and self-giving. Models of the kind of love that God expects from all of us. My brothers and sisters, in this weekend let us ask our Blessed Mother to really help us to be generous with God and with others, and especially the most in need. Fr. Josue Vargas Lara
Book of Life The book of Life will be in the sanctuary through-out the month of Novem-ber for everyone to write the names of the faithful departed. This book will
be present at all masses during the month of November in remembrance of our loved ones. We have All Souls envelopes availa-ble that can be used for your special inten-tions. The masses for All Souls are cele-brated though out the year.
Healing Mass This coming Friday, November 16th, at 7:00pm we have our Healing mass in which we admin-ister the Sacrament of the Sick. This is a good opportunity to
bring the elderly and the sick to receive this important Sacrament of Healing. Fol-lowing the mass we have the devotions to St. Expedito. Everyone is welcome.
Second Collection Next weekend November 17 and 18, we have a second collection for The Shepherds Trust fund. Through your support of the Shepherds’ Trust, our retired priests are given the dignity of adequate monthly al-lowance, health care and other assistance in their golden years. Thanks for helping us care for those who have always cared for us.
Mass Intentions We ask the community to kindly request mass intentions ahead of time. Mass inten-tions to be announced on weekend masses and days of the following week must be re-quested by Wednesday of each week. We cannot change dates for mass intentions pre-viously requested. Thank you for your under-standing and your co-operation.

A Legacy of Faith A Gift of Love
Leaving a bequest to the church is your legacy to the faith that you have cherished during your lifetime. Mak-ing your Will is one of the most im-portant things you’ll ever do. When you include the church in your Will you are helping the Kingdom of God to continue after you leave this earth. Your gift will touch countless souls who enter through the doors of the church. A lawyer or financial planner can assist with the correct wording to make a bequest to the Parish or to any Archdiocese Charity.

Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?
It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your appli-cation for employment you must pro-vide a letter of recommendation from your Pastor. It is highly recommended to contact the pastor a year in advance, especially in light of the fact that all universities make this matter known to every student at the beginning of the
year. Please plan to have a conversa-tion with your pastor e arly in the pro-cess (not the week before you are sub-mitting your application) and you will avoid disappointment and stress at the time when applications are to be sub-mitted. The following are required at St. Jude’s: Be (yourself, not your parents or
grandparents) a registered member of the parish using offertory envelopes (at least 1 year before the applica-tion).
Be in the parish for participation in Sunday/Saturday mass for a mini-mum of 12 months prior to approach-ing the pastor.
Make your request 3 months in ad-vance. Applicant must be the one making the requests.
No request by a relative or a parent will be accepted .
The pastor has to be able to recom-mend you, and that is only possible if he knows you at the basic level of reg-ular mass attendance. Personal knowledge of the candidate’s faith practice is what the pastor needs to rec-ommend, not your relatives, but your-self, as this is a personal recommenda-tion not a family one.
Questions for Reflection:
If there is a split between what you do in your heart and what you say with your lips, is hypocrisy present?
Are you called to action when you
hear about starving people needing food, or homeless people needing shelter? What can you do?
