Arc Welding with the MA-series

The 6-axis MOTOMAN MA1800 is remarkable for its excellent performance in all applications. In addition to welding, the robot can also be used for other tasks such as handling applica-tions. All supply lines are routed through the upper part of the arm and the wrist axes of the robot in order to reduce interference contours and enlarge the possible working range. A payload capacity of 15 kg allows for a large field of applications of the 6-axis robot. The media hose package is routed inside the wrist and thus protected thereby ensuring better accessibility to the devices and work- pieces. The optimized supply line system con- siderably extends the durability of the cables and hoses. In addition to this, the whiplash effect of conventional supply lines could be completely eliminated. Additionally, the possible number of robots in the production cells can be increased significantly. Defined interference contours enable synchronous cooperation of several robots in a minimum of space.

The MOTOMAN MS80W is YASKAWA’s answer to worldwide downsizing of spot- welding guns. This 80 kg spot-welding robot represents a further highlight of the company‘s range. On closer inspection, one is impressed by the streamlined design of the 6-axis MS80W: its increased speed and higher flexibility are significant advantages over conven- tional heavy-duty robots. Welding lines can be reduced by means of the extremely close positioning of the robot which also results in reduction of cycle times and allows flexible adaptation of the welding lines. The cables are integrated and are routed from the L axis to the robot base and through the centre of the S axis.

Due to its special kinematics the MOTOMAN VS50 can have a closer approach to the workpieces and also allows for high-density layouts with multiple robots, contributing to space savings. The cables are integrated into the robot arm, which enables the robot to move freely without cable bundles being in the way and eliminates the interference between robots. Due to its slim body, the VS50 enables a system installation in con- fined spaces. Thus, more compact and faster working in extremely cramped spaces is possible which significantly increases the productivity and saves valuable production foot print. The VS50 can ideally be used for spot welding, handling, assembly and hand-ling of work pieces that have several hard-to-reach points. For machine tending operations the robot can be placed beside or inside the machine, leaving valuable floor space free for operators.
