UNDESIGNATED
Intrusive Rocks
Granite, leucogranite; pale grey to salmon pink, coarse to very coarse grained, locally porphyroblastic, sheet like, weak to strong foliation
Granodiorite; light grey to pinkish grey, medium to coarse grained, sheet like, weak to strong foliation
Quartz diorite; dark greenish grey to grey, medium to coarse grained, sheet like
ARCHEAN
ENNADAI GROUP
Intrusive Rocks
Gabbro; dark greenish grey to black, typically massive and homogeneous, medium to coarse grained, occurs mainly as synvolcanic sills and dykes
Metavolcanic Rocks
Mafic massive flows; dark greenish grey, fine to medium, intercalated with pillowed mafic flows (Mvp) and includes localised vesicular, amygdaloidal and plagioclase porphyritic units
Mafic pillowed flows; dark greenish grey, fine to medium, intercalated with massive mafic mafic flows (Mvf), intercalated with hyaloclastite pillow breccia, quartz, carbonate and epidote veins, pods and patches are found locally
Mafic tuff; dark greenish grey, finely laminated, fine to medium grained, with some coarse crystal-rich horizons, local pillow breccia fragments, grades laterally into intermediate (Ivt) and felsic (Fvt) tuff.
Intermediate tuff; pale grey, fine to medium grained, finely laminated, grades laterally into mafic and felsic tuff, localised lapilli tuff breccia and crystal tuff
Felsic tuff; pale grey to buff, fine grained, massive or weakly laminated, grades laterally into mafic and intermediate tuff, possibly localised flows
Project M.132 of 2001
The area was mapped by I.M. Coulson (project leader) in the summer of 2001, with the assistance of Gary Delaney, Cameron Demmans, Charlie Harper, Curt Huebert, Jurgen Kraus, Mike Len, Scott Rainville, Tamara Reimer, Debbie Strem, and Robin Wolbaum.
This map was printed from the geologist's digital file. Geological data were processed using Palm PDA's and ArcView software. Base maps were compiled from 1:50 000 scale digital topographic maps licensed from Saskatchewan Information Services Corporation. The map was processed overall using ArcView 3.2 software.
The map is issued in a package with the Summary of Investigations 2001 Volume 2, Saskatchewan Geological Survey, and is available separately.
This map may be referenced as part of the following publication: Coulson, I.M., Kraus, J., Harper, C.T., Shives, R.B.K.
