Schlachthausfreund GmbH is a family firm, founded in

1949. From the start, we have concentrated our efforts on

the manufacture and marketing of equipment and protec-

tive clothing for the meat, foodstuff and technical indust-

ral award-winners. Our own manufacture specialises in

stab-resistant and cut-resistant clothing, butcher and work

Our company, situated in the Lüneburger Heide in Lower

WORK APRONS

As the German market leader and one of the leading ma-nufacturers worldwide, as inventors of the classic butcher apron and as inventors of the TPU apron, we are parti-cularly motivated to search for innovative solutions and practical new products in the work apron area and imple-ment them in our production. Our classics (and of course customised orders) are made in a wide variety of materials and material strengths, often in several colours and with a range of closure systems.

The globally recognised SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS has

tested our aprons for us and pronounced them good. The rubber aprons were even awarded the LFGB certificate. INVENTIONS, PATENTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

1952: We invent the first waterproof and washable work aprons. We receive our first patent protection in 1953 (DGBM 1662084).

1972:We are the first European manufacturer to produce knife scabbards for the food industry from hygienic plastic and apron material.

1977: We invent the first Butcher Apron with a replaceable neckband which can be adjusted on both sides (DGBM 7719060).

1979:We are the first to manufacture polyurethane foil aprons for the foodstuffs industry (registered brand: LEDOLIN®).

1998: We invent the first stab-resistant glove with a hygienic pla-stic closure band which can be exchanged without tools.

2004: We invent the first stab-resistant glove with an exchange-able stainless steel closure.

2007:We develop the first antibacterial polyurethane work apron possessing a strong antibacterial and fungicide action but without the use of harmful ingredients. Confirmed by the FRESENIUS Institute.

2008:We develop the first stainless steel knife basket which costs less than the value of its contents, which it helps to protect, transport and/or clean.


2009:We are now offering a wider range worldwide of colours, materials, types and styles of work aprons for the food-stuffs industry than any other manufacturers we know.

2010: We manufacture the first polyurethane work apron with no ties, closures, hooks or rivets of any kind.

2010 We start offering all our polyurethane work aprons on re-quest „100% metal-free“.

2011:We invent the first stab-resistant glove with a patented spring closure which does not directly touch the wearer‘s skin and which at the same time was tested and certified as conforming to the the latest CE norm for stab-resistant gloves, EN 14328.

2011:We are awarded AEO Certification (Authorized Economic Operator). the immediate result is that our exports and imports have priority status and enjoy expedited Customs clearance.

2011:We become official partner of the famous Michelin-starred chef, Christian Rach, and his restaurant.

2012:We expand our range to include detectable products for the meat and foodstuffs industry.

2013: Following 2012, in 2013 we once again achieve credit rating index 1. In the same year we present, as the first manufac-turer worldwide, our detectable glove-tightener, Glovefitter® and present the first detectable apron for repeated use at the IFFA Trade Fair in Frankfurt.


2014:It only hooks in where it should - we introduce the Falcon, the first stab-resistant glove with an intelligent hook closu-re system.

2015:We present the lightest work boots in the world.

2016:63.000 visitors. 43 nations. 6 days of the best business ima-ginable. One big thank you to IFFA 2016 from the complete Schlachthausfreund-Team 2016:Following on 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, in 2016 the ra-ting agencies creditsafe, Creditreform and Bürgel once again awarded us their credit rating index 1. In the same year we present the world‘s first fully detectable NBR-coa-ted rubber butcher apron. Even small scraps of this mate-rial will be detected by the commonly used metal and X-ray detectors, ensuring product safety within the production process.

2017:We are proud of our test results in our cut-resistant ran-ge: all cutguard® cut-resistant gloves achieve the highest possible cut-resistance level F. In the same year, we pre-sented our Glovefitter® Neo, the low-price alternative to the Glovefitter®. And this year finds us once again with the top credit rating index 1, awarded by the rating agencies, creditsafe, Creditreform and Bürgel.

2018:We now offer our LEDOLIN® PUre aprons and LEDOLIN® PUre sleeve protectors in white, blue, red, yellow and green.

2019:BIOLIN®: SCHLACHTHAUSFREUND GmbH registers the first 100% biodegradable and compostable reusable work apron as a utility model.
