Retap is a Danish hydration company founded in 2009. We offer Retap Drinkware - reusable bottles, carafes and water glasses especially designed to drink tap water from, and we offer Retap Infuse - instant flavour sticks designed to provide ordinary tap water with a natural hint of fruit and berries.

We believe the best way to drink water is, refilling reusable drinkware with tap water and perhaps adding a flavour stick for a hint of natural flavour.

Retap was founded by three enthu-siastic entrepreneurs in 2009 who were initially influenced by reading about the accumulation of plastic trash in our oceans consisting mainly of plastic bottles.

THE ECO-FRIENDLY WATER BOTTLE

“At the UN climate meeting back in 2009 in Copenhagen (COP 15), we became more aware of the negative impact of bottled water on our environment. We felt that something had to be done. We set our minds to designing a bottle especially made for drinking tap water. A year and many designs later in the summer of 2010, we released the Retap Bottle, and we

are very proud of this eco-friendly and beautiful product”, explains Lars Brøndum Petersen, one of the founders.

Since then more bottle sizes and bottle accessories have been added to the Retap product range along with a carafe and water glasses.

The new product line Retap Infuse adds another milestone to the history of Retap.

Retap Infuse is a collection of instant flavour sticks, designed to provide or-dinary tap water with a natural hint

of fruit and berries. The idea behind the product is simply to make the experience of drinking tap water more exciting. Compared to ready-to-drink products in disposable plastic bottles, Retap Infuse is a more sustainable way to stay hydrated.

“As Retap Infuse is an instant product, the consumer can mix it with tap water e.g. in a reusable Retap glass bottle, thus reducing the need for plastic packaging. More-over, the environmental impact of the transportation and cooling of bottled water before consumption is removed. You simply use tap water”, says Lars Brøndum Petersen.

Retap has two offices. The main office is

located in Agerskov, Denmark and the other one in Cleveland, USA.

Independent research by Carbon Foot-print Ltd. has shown that you can save 30.2 kg CO2 every year when using a Retap Bottle 05 compared to using a standard 0.5 plastic bottle.

This amount of CO2 equals the pro-duction of 84 new Retap Bottles. The Carbon Footprint of a Retap Bottle 05 is 0.358 kg CO2. This includes all the carbon emissions arising during the lifecycle of the product.

The Retap Lids are designed and made in Denmark. The look and feel is fine-tuned to the smallest details. An es-sential feature is that the lid is suit-able for reuse. It is designed without any edges where bacteria can accu-mulate and grow.

RETAP STANDARD LIDS

The material of the standard lids is a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). It is 100% safe as it is free of PVC, bisphe-nol A (BPA) and phthalates.

We carefully selected this material due to its low environmental impact and because of its physical abilities. Most important was the fine-tuning of

the elasticity. The lids need to stretch out to smoothly fit the Retap Bottle but also be solid enough, so they do not fall off. TPE is resistant to heat until 120 0C before deforming. That is why you can simply wash the lids in a dishwasher

The standard lids are available in 18 colours including the two new trendy colours Petroleum Green and Peach for the Retap Bottle and for the Retap Carafe the standard lids are available in 6 colours. The colourful lids are perfect for personalising your Retap Bottle or Carafe to your personal style or company brand.

RETAP WOODEN LID

In addition to the standard lids, an exclusive lid made from walnut wood is also available. The wooden lid is handcrafted by a traditional crafts-man on the island of Funen in the heart of Denmark. Each lid is unique and of excellent quality.

The wooden lid makes your Retap Bottle or Carafe look even more ele-gant. The wooden lid does not seal tight and is thus very easy and con-venient to take off, making it ideal for conferences, meeting rooms, restau-rants and dinner table use.
