While the goals and objectives of Immunotec’s research and development evolve continually, our philosophy remains steadfast. We are dedicated to Dr. Bounous’ approach of using strict scientific methodology and collaboration with top researchers and institutions in their respective fields.

Over 40 years ago, a team of researchers at McGill University, led by Dr. Gustavo Bounous and Dr. Patricia Kongshavn made a significant discovery which laid the groundwork for the development of what we now know today as Immunocal®, our flagship product. Following this discovery, the team made a very important decision that would influence much of what we know today about Immunocal: to continue to investigate and observe the nature and relevance of Immunocal in all aspects of health.

The founding of our company in 1996 enabled us to share the benefits of our research with the general public. In the beginning, we could not have imagined the broad worldwide recognition that Immunocal would have today. Encouraged by this recognition and following Dr. Bounous’ desire to think far beyond Immunocal’s application to immune function, we continued to track the explosion of scientific literature to better understand the potential benefits of Immunocal. In time, our view of how to think about health, wellness and performance became influenced by the elite athlete and how Immunocal supplementation affected their well-being during times of training stress.

Fast forward to the present day and staying true to Dr. Bounous’ integrated approach to health, our research has evolved from just looking at immune function and physical performance to the next frontier - brain health.
