Radio Interference SuppressionIn accordance with DIN EN 500812 (Radio interferencesuppression), the CL200, CL300, CL350, CL400, CL500

and IAT control units are Class A devices. They are de-signedfor operation in an industrial environment. Withoutadditionalprecautionary measures, they are NOT suitablefor the following applications: Connection to, or interfacing with, the public low-volt-

age mains supply, and/or for deployment in residential dwellings, in business or

commercialareas, and for use in medium-size commer-cial operations.

For application in residential dwellings, in business orcommercialareas, and for use in medium-size commercialoperations, the user will require a single operating licenceissuedby the relevant national authority or testing/appro-valinstitution. (In Germany, this is the Federal Institute forPosts and Telecommunications, with its local branchesand subsidiaries.)

DIN ISO 9001Asearly as in September 1991, our corporate quality man-agement system was certified by the DQS in accordancewith DIN EN ISO 9001. Subsequent successful revisionswere conducted in the years 1994 and 1996.

PROFIBUSThe R200P and R500P modules facilitate the connectionof a CL200 and/or CL400 and CL500, respectively, to aPROFIBUS-FMS network. The modules are compatiblewith the requirements of DIN EN 50170.

PROFIBUS-DPPROFIBUS-DP comprises a PROFIBUS version that isoptimized for application with sensors, transducers andcontrol elements. With COMNET-DP, Bosch has im-plemented the standardization of the PROFIBUS-DP for

all Bosch-proprietary control units. The COMNET-DPspecifications are based upon the DIN EN 50170 stan-dard.

AS-IAS-I(Actuator Sensor Interface) is a new form of technol -ogy that provides the connection of sensors, transducersand control elements to a PLC. This eliminates the con-ventionalparallel cabling of each individual input / output, replacing this method with a standard two-wire line withtree topology.

    Both the BM2-ASI and BM4-ASI modules provide a busmasterconnnection for the CL200, CL300, CL350, CL400,

    CL500 and IAT control units.

    2.14 BM2-ASI Bus Master

TheBM2-ASI Bus Master Module comprises the AS-I bus

masterfor the CL200. It thus provides the CL200 with thecost-effective options of decentralized input/output con-nection via AS-I.

AS-I utilizes a simple 2-wire line in tree structure to re-placesthe traditional, elaborate parallel wiring of each indi-vidual input/output. Connecting each individual input/out-putvia a cable trunk is no longer required. With the use ofAS-I, only an unscreened 2-wire line is used to supplypower and data to the signalling devices and control el-ements.

The BM2-ASI Bus Master Module handles the followingtasks: Cyclicaldata interchange between busstation and cen-

tral processing unit Network initialization Parameter assignment to bus stations Data transmission diagnostics Addressing of substituted bus stations

TheBM2-ASI module supports the following AS-I profiles: M0, serving inputs/outputs only M1, serving inputs/outputs and commands

The basic unit comprises the foundation of every CL300hardwareconfiguration. To form the basic unit, a choice oftwo module racks is available: GG1 Module Rack, with 14 module slots GG1/K Module Rack, with 8 slots

The basic unit contains the power supply module, and the central processing unit.

The remaining module slots can be populated with addi-tional peripheral modules.

In the event that more than the maximum of 14 moduleslots available in the basic unit are required to completethehardware configuration of a specific control unit, addi-tional peripheral modules can be accommodated in cen-tralized or decentralized expansion units.

Fordetailed information on decentralized expan-sion, refer to Section12, COMNET-DP

    Expansion Unit

Toassemble the expansion unit, a choice of three moduleracks is available: EG2 Module Rack, with 14 module slots EG2/K Module Rack, with 8 module slots EG2/K-4 Module Rack, with 4 module slots

The expansion unit contains the following: AG/Z-S Expansion Module, and a maximum of 13 peripheral modules.

The internal power for the centralized expansion units issupplied by the power supply module of the basic unit.

Whenexpanding the CL300 hardware, the maxi-mumavailable address rangemust be observed. To ensure the selection of a suitably dimen-sioned power supply module, the maximumpower consumption of all modules to be con-nected must be considered.

For detailed information about hardware expan-sionand the AG/P-S andAG/Z-S expansion mod-ules, refer to Page 113.

    See also Page 85.

When installing a fan unit, a minimum clearspace of 90 mm is required below the modulerack.

For individual modules, the information aboutoperating conditions and the use of fan unitsmust be observed. The relevant specificationsappear in the equipment manual provided withthe respective module.

CL300 Basic UnitTheoperation of the CL300 basic unit without a fan unit is

possible if the following prerequisites have been met: Ambient temperature inside control cabinet,45 C; NT1 or NT24 Power Supply Module installed, and no peripheral modules requiring a fan unit.

If one of the above conditions is not met, the basic unitmust be equipped with a fan unit featuring two fans.

Expansion UnitTheuse of a fan unit inan expansion unit always dependsuponthe thermal emissions of the installed modules. Thepossible requirement for an additional fan unit in the ex-pansion unit must always be investigated.

    3.3 Power Supply Modules

See also Section 9,Power Supply Modules

Toprovide internal power for the CL300, the user has thechoice of three power supply modules, designated NT1,NT2 and NT24.

Forthe purpose of selecting the power supply module for agiven hardware configuration, the total internal power con-sumptionof all modules installed in both the basic unit andall expansion units must be considered.
