CLAIMS HANDLING PHILOSOPHY Designated areas of expertise to accommodate the full spectrum of Casualty risks Dedicated claims handlers assigned to accounts, where appropriate Reporting structures facilitate management oversight and escalation of claims Claims professionals analyze applicable claims or loss data and partner with insureds to offer insightful feedback that might contribute to reduction of risk UNDERWRITING SUPPORT Claims partners with Underwriting in the construction and applicability of policy forms and language in order to minimize the incidence of any disconnect between the manner in which the account performs following the receipt of a claim from when the account was written. Claims partners with Underwriting and, by extension, with the broker and insured to review a potential insured to devise a holistic approach to the resolution of any perceived challenges. Early warning reports, as well as close and frequent interaction with Underwriting, ensures that all parties are well informed of any potential exposures or perceived risks as early in the process as possible. LOSS CONTROL Risk Assessment: Individual risk consultation, class of risk evaluation, current issues evaluation and research Vendor management: Assure the proper balance of in-house risk engineering capability and outsourced capability – formal vendor quality management program Regulatory compliance: Assure compliance with regulations in states that mandate loss control services – develop formal compliance procedures for state approval WHY ASPEN?
