THE SOLUTIONCHALLENGESA French machining sub-contractor of complex components for the agricultural machine industry, equipped with forty CNC machines, was actively looking to solve the following challenges: » Improve fluid performance
(stability of the emulsion, no foaming, no bacteria development)
» Solve skin irritation issues for operators
» Decrease costs (increase tool life, decrease fluid consumption)
Based on regular visits and technical support together with a local distributor, Quaker analyzed the customer’s challenges and introduced QUAKERCOOL® 7330 BFF in six machines for milling and turning operations.
Very quickly, these positive benefits were noticed by the customer: » No skin irritation issues for operators
» No smelly odor at the start-up of the product
During the two month trial, the emulsions were closely monitored with sample analysis and tool life was measured. After successfully running QUAKERCOOL® 7330 BFF, the customer realized the following: » Tool life increase (x2 or x3 depending on parts) on cast iron compared to previous product
» Top-up decrease from 3% to 1,5%
» Very stable emulsion

THE PRODUCT QUAKERCOOL® 7330 BFF is a high-performance, water-miscible semi-synthetic fluid, with a medium mineral oil content, suitable for machining and grinding operations on most engineering materials. This technology combines the cleanliness and detergency of a synthetic product with the unique properties of oil containing emulsions. Recommended for general machining and grinding operations on steel and cast iron.
