Reliance Capital, a constituent of CNX Nifty Junior and MSCI India, is a part of the Reliance Group.
It is one of India’s leading and amongst most valuable financial services companies in the private
sector.
Case Study
Reliance Capital required a partner who can install 5000 thin clients spread across 1200 locations in
8 months across India. The challenge was accentuated by the fact that the partner would not only
have to manage implementations, but would also provide the post implementation support on thin
clients within defined SLA.
Moreover, the question was not merely to meet and exceed committed contract obligations and
proactive addressing of customer’s service requirements, but also was to focus on providing
business value from the services.
Furthermore, there were also many operational challenges such as user availability, bandwidth
limitation, network issue, data backup size, site not ready and material unavailability and with so
many hurdles, the customer was unable to roll out his VDI environment.
CMS IT Services deployed a VDI thin-client solution to provide cost-effective, reliable desktop
services and workstation standardization.
CMS brought in its expertise in delivering infrastructure management services and the
conglomeration of its deep knowledge of virtualization along with extensive experience in
operations. CMS’s experience in application testing on thin clients, data restoration in VD
environment, asset capturing and tagging capabilities experience enabled successful project
implementation.
CMS ensured high quality improved service delivery at reduced cost through optimization of
service delivery (Operational efficiency) and also developed actionable risk mitigation strategies for
successful project implementation.
CMS IT Services leveraged the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), powered by the Windows 7
Operating System, to deploy remote desktop services that provided immense flexibility to users.
