THE CLIENT A family owned business, Ross Bakers has undergone a major refurbishment totalling £60,000. Refitting everything from the floor coverings and worktops to machinery, including the installation of a brand-new EPoS system as well as introducing a range of new savouries. Established in 1954, the business specialises in pies and savoury products and employs 10 staff. It is currently being run by the 2nd and 3rd generation - father and son David and Simon Ross. They have won numerous awards from competitions they have entered over the years and now find themselves as the oldest surviving local bakery in the area. THE CHALLENGE Ross Bakers migrated from cash registers to a tailored EPoS system. Owner David Ross says: “Due to increased competition and the oil and gas downturn, it was clear everything required updating to increase footfall, quantity of sales and ultimately restore profit margins.” The bakery also had a requirement to introduce a “dual pricing” tariff where products are given two different price levels. These price levels are scheduled to change at predetermined times of the day and the menu boards are updated electronically. THE SOLUTION After consideration of several EPoS vendors, David chose an ICRTouch System provided and maintained by ICR Scotland Ltd. This modular package incorporates all of the key elements required and in particular the Digital Menu Boards and Dual Pricing. The solution that benefitted their specific requirements included: Aures Yuno This touch screen terminal was chosen for its robust, compact and stylish design and is particularly well suited to bakeries due to its fanless and completely solid state build. It has a shock and scratch proof, multi-touch, projected, capacitive screen (PCAP) technology and requires very little ongoing maintenance. ICRTouchPoint The foundation of the EPoS System, this can be set up with a large array of additional and complimentary modules. It’s easy and fast to use and can be set up for various offers, e.g. Meal Deals, Mix N Match, BOGOF. TouchOffice WEB This cloud-based Management and Stock Control package provides users with full product file maintenance, sales reporting and stock control, remotely from any internet- connected device. Sales data is constantly uploaded from the EPoS terminal allowing real-time as well as historic reporting. The user can identify trends and patterns with attractive graphs and charts, and analyse key performance indicators. This is a subscription based package. ICRTouchMenu This is a digital, flexible and stunning signage showing a café, restaurant or take away food and drinks menu in an attractive and enticing way. The virtual menu board is presented on a large screen display and replaces any static fixed menu display. PS-Connect by PaymentSense A fully integrated Chip & Pin Card Reader that further streamlines transaction times by eliminating the need for keying in sales values and provides fully contactless payment.
