• 28 year old, Monica, presents with fatigue, muscle pain, weakness, and numbness, and dizziness. After talking with a doctor who asked her more questions regarding her health, she admitted to an unstable mood, occasional bowel and bladder dysfunction, and balance and coordination issues.

Biochemistry
• Autoreactive CD4+ T helper cells activate which increases immune response. • The activated CD4+ T cells and proinflammatory cells cross the
blood brain barrier.• The cells produce proinflammatory cytokines and interferon-
gamma.• They then active microglia and astrocytes which induces myelin
phagocytois.• Myelin phagocytosis increase the reactivation of CD4+ cells,
causing a feedback loop.
