    Who we are.

    Irvington. Elizabeth. Plainfield.

    Our mission is to meet the whole-body needs of allwomen

    during childbearing years. By demonstrating the love of Christtoward clients, opportunities to sensitively present the Gospel ofJesus Christ will lead to thespiritual salvation of mothers, and

    the physical salvation of children not yet born.

    Over 1300 womenand menwere seen atour three

    centers

    150 babies wereknownborn afterexpectantmothers wereseen at

    Gateway

    Over 1000NewTestamentsor Gospel of John portions

    were given out

    The first Gateway Pregnancy

    Center began as a vision of

    many churches that desired to

    have an evangelical crisis

    pregnancy ministry in Essex

    County, New Jersey.

    In 1988, Rev. Michael

    Westbrook, and his wife,

    Maria, two volunteers atArchway Pregnancy Center, in

    Elizabeth, approached the

    Archway Board of Directors

    for help in beginning a

    ministry in the Newark, New

    Jersey area. Archway had been

    in existence since 1985.

    Over the next year and a half,a

    steering committeeproceededwith the many tasks to open

    such a center. In November

    1989, IrvingtonsGateway

    Pregnancy Centerwas

    incorporated.

    In the fall of 1998, Archway in

    Elizabeth merged with

    Gateway in Irvington to

    become Gateway Pregnancy

    Centers.

    The board of directors had

    prayed for a new center in

    Plainfield for several years.

    Dorothy Booker spearheadedthe search for the centers

    location and organization of

    volunteers to prepare the new

    Plainfield center for clients.The third Gateway Pregnancy

    Center was up and running in

    March of 2008.

    Since the ministries began,

    over 28,800 women have

    been counseled and given free

    pregnancy tests, referrals to

    medical/social service

    experts, and material items,

    and especially, the gospel!

    Approximately 5 0 0 women

    made adecision to trust

    Christwith their lives and

    over 30 womenrededicated their lives to

    Christ

    Countless diapers,babyclothes, bottles,and

    other infant itemsweregiven to new mothers

    About 90 sonogramswereperformed at our

    Elizabeth site

    13 church speakingopportunities including pulpit

    supply, 7 high school school/college presentations / health

    fairs, 5 missions or pastorsmeetings, 2 volunteer trainings,a four-day prolife conference inDallas (speaking and learning),

    a 7week FBI CitizensAcademy Training, 1 radio

    interview, I youth grouppresentation and 1 entire staff

    training in evangelism

    staff and volunteers

    Client Services - $106,000 includes the facilitation of a need-based assessment

    and an intentional personalized plan for each client

    Office - $14,600 includes pregnancy tests, general office sup-plies, equipmentmaintenance, telephone and sonogram supplies

    Rent - $47,000 includes monthly rent for all three centers

    As an incorporated 501(c)3 non-profit, Gateway receives no state orfederal funding

    50% of ourbudget comesfrochurchgiving,pledges andfundraisers;therefore, we relyon theremainingportion to come

    from individualone-time gifts,grants,or specialprojects.

    salvation. (I Corinthians 15:1-4)

    Gateway believes also in women

    making an informed choice. We

    offer the facts about abortion and

    the developing child and have seen

    85% of women counseled choose t

    carry their child to term.

    We also offer compassionate help

    for women who have already

    aborted.
