Case 8.6 (1-7) A 55-year-old woman who had previously been using a partial removable denture. During a long hospitalization, the denture had not been used and several teeth had over erupted and a forced bite with an inversion had developed in the anterior region. (8-12) Two mini-implants were inserted vertically on the top of the alveolar process distal to the upper canines. A .022 x .026 stainless steel wire was inserted into the bracket-like head of the mini-implants and bend so the two point of force application was produced allowing one to translate the molars mesially combined with intrusion. (13) One mini-implant distal to the right lower premolar was used as anchorage for the distal displacement of the lower teeth on the right side. (13-17) After 11 months, the patient had obtained occlusion of the overerupted teeth and 4 implants could be inserted. (18-22) Provisional crowns on the implant that had osseointegrated were used for final positioning of the right upper canine and the left molar. (23-29) Following the orthodontic treatment with a provisional reconstruction.
